“2nd SURPRISE GIVE AWAY, Joyful dinner”

Dag lieve allemaal, Hello everyone,

Zijn jullie al helemaal in mooie Kerst sferen gehuld en alvast aan het bedenken wat er geserveerd zal worden voor het vreugdevol samenzijn rond de Kerst tafel?

Dit is de 2^e give away met de mooie franse damast theedoek van de ribbonstore.nl en bestek als afbeelding.

Bedacht meteen dat is leuk voor de Kerst en heb ik van deze theedoek weer een quilt van gemaakt.

De contouren van de afbeelding heb ik door gequilt en met het zilveren bestek van mijn lieve wijlen opa en oma erop gestrikt met mooie rode fluwelen bandjes.

Vind het altijd wat feestelijks hebben fluweel en door de ruches wat ik heb gebruikt heb ik er een “schortachtige” keuken uiterlijk gegeven en met linnen en geruite stof afgewerkt.

Het kant erom heen is ook van de ribbonstore.nl, heel leuk op een houten klos verkrijgbaar.

Daaronder heb ik een losse flap gemaakt met een stitchery voor de tekst om deze te verwisselen d.m.v. knoopjes, na de Kerst zal deze dan vervangen worden door een andere flap met een tekst om deze quilt doorgaans te gebruiken. Dat zullen jullie in Januari weer zien.

Op de losse flap heb ik de volgende tekst erop gestitched:

Ja…, en zo moet eigenlijk iedere dag je dag starten!

This quilt I called a "Joyful dinner".

Ons gezin viert Kerstmis altijd met pakjes onder de kerstboom.

Our family always celebrates Christmas with presents under the Christmas tree.

“Cosy Autumn weekend…”

Twee weken geleden reed ik op een zaterdag met bijzonder mooi weer heerlijk op m’n fiets naar de plaatselijke breiwinkel (klik) waar ik al meer dan 20 jaar m’n haakkatoen en breiwol koop.

Had nog wat haakkatoen nodig en vind het altijd heerlijk om al die prachtige kleuren te zien wat ze verkopen.

Wilde afrekenen en op dat moment stond een mevrouw bij de kassa die nog bezig was wol uit te zoeken en mijn oog viel direct op haar prachtige trui.

Aarzelde met mezelf want durfde niet te vragen of ze die trui zelf had gebreid of gekocht en ik zag dat ze de winkel uitliep.

Aaargghh dacht ik, had ik het nu maar gevraagd en tegelijkertijd dacht ik “Cin, het is minstens 20 jaar geleden dat je een trui voor jezelf had gebreid denk je dat je het nog kan…”

Two weeks ago I went on a Saturday with very nice weather on my bike to the local shop  (click) where I come for over 20 years to buy my crochet cotton yarn.

Still needed some crochet cotton and I always find it wonderful to see all those wonderful colors what they sell.

Wanted to pay my crochet cotton at the pay desk and at that time there was a lady standing there and she was still sorting out to find some wool and my eyes fell immediately on her beautiful sweater.

Hesitated with myself because I do not dare to ask if she had bought that sweater or knitted by herself and I saw that she walked out of the store.

Aaargghh, I thought why didn’t I asked her and  while I thought I speak to myself " Cin, it is at least 20 years since you had knitted a sweater for yourself do you think you still can ... "

Maar ineens kwam ze weer terug, kreeg direct een smile van oor tot oor en werd zo blij als een kind hahahah…. Meteen heb ik de vraag gesteld waarop ze zei “Ja, deze heb ik zelf gebreid en ik kan niet eens breien”.

Verbaasd keek ik haar aan en zei dat geloof ik niet want werkelijk waar de trui die ze aan had was zo mooi gebreid en is echt zo leuk!

 Wil je anders het patroon zei ze want toevallig heb ik het blad bij me waar deze in stond, ze wilde namelijk nog een tweede maken. Is zo klaar zei ze, pen 8 met vrij dik wolgaren breien, heb er twee weken over gedaan.

Gillen deed ik en kon me nog net beheersen om haar niet een hele dikke knuffel te geven hahahah… wat was ik blij zeg!

But suddenly she came back , immediately I got a smile from ear to ear and was so happy as a child to see her.... hahahah. Immediately I asked my question, which she said " Yes , this I knitted myself and I can not even knit ."

Surprised I looked at her and said I don’t believe you because the sweater what she was wearing was so beautiful knitted and is really so cute!

She said to me, would you like the pattern because I have the magazine with me with the pattern of the sweater , I want to make another one. It is so ready I’ve knitted this sweater in about two weeks she said, knitting pin 8 and using fairly thick wool yarn.

I make a joyful scream and could barely control myself to give her not a big hug ... hahahah I become so happy!

Dus zo gebeurde het dat ik met 4 bollen van “tweed” acryl/wol, pen 8, patroon zorgvuldig bij de hand en breien maar…

Voor mij nog een obstakel want ik had geen foto erbij als voorbeeld zeg maar dus direct aan het breien want de trui zag ik nog op m’n netvlies.

So it happened that I was knitting from that moment with 4 balls of "tweed" acrylic/ wool, pin 8, pattern carefully by the hand.

For me another obstacle because I had no photos as an example so I was knitting directly with the sweater still pictured on my eyes.

De wol wat ik had uitgekozen was net binnen maar was eigenlijk te dun en dat zou betekenen dat ik het patroon helemaal moest omrekenen maar ineens had ik het, gewoon dubbeldraads breien.

The wool I had chosen was just arrived at the shop but was too thin and that would mean that I had to completely convert the pattern but suddenly I had an idea, just knitting with double-yarn.

Heb tijdens de regen en stormachtige dagen lekker ’s avonds en vorig weekend aan de trui gewerkt, was niet meer te stoppen hahahah…

During the rainy and stormy days last weekend and evenings I worked so joyfully of this sweater, was unstoppable hahaha..

Afgelopen maandag en dinsdag heb ik de kraag gebreid en afgewerkt.

Met een heerlijk wijntje en cd’s tevoorschijn gehaald met kerst muziek, nu niet lachen hé ik zie het hoor…. hahaha!

 Tjinglebells op de achtergrond, zal je vertellen dat ik zo aan het genieten was (lieve zucht) en heb ik de trui in elkaar gezet en tadaaaa….., was helemaal happy!

Met dank aan de lieve dame, door haar heb ik deze trui mogen maken.

Last Monday and Tuesday I knitted the collar and finished the sweater.

So I sat there finishing the sweater in the evening with a delicious glas of wine and I grab my cd’s with Christmas music, do not laugh now I see it though .... hahaha!

Was listening tjinglebells on the background, will telling you that I was so enjoying (sweet sigh) and so this will be the sweater, tadaaaa ..... was very very happy!

En gister klaarde het op, lekker de boodschapjes gedaan, beetje poetsen in huis en tijdens m’n kleine koffiepauze zat ik even te genieten van de zonnestralen.

Bedacht me geen moment, trok m’n laarzen en gebreide trui aan en met m’n fotocamera vertoefde ik even heerlijk in de kleurrijke bossen.

And yesterday the weather cleared up, done nicely my shoppings, little housecleaning and during my little coffee break I was just enjoying the sunbeams.

Changed my mind for a moment, pulled directly my boots and my new knitted sweater on and with my camera I lingered in the colourful nearest forests for a moment.

Was er nog helemaal niet geweest nu het zo mooi is en dit is wat ik zag, PRACHTIG nietwaar? Vind dat altijd zo mooi het filterende zonlicht door de kleurrijke bladeren, als dit niet genieten is.

Vandaag was het ook zo heerlijk in het zonnetje, lekker lunchje gedaan met z’n twee en ga zo met m’n haakwerkjes verder op de bank met de voetjes omhoog.

De eerste aflevering van een nieuw seizoen, één van mijn favoriete serie “Downtown Abbey” begint zo.

Morgen nog een heerlijke “lazy Sunday” in de planning en ga ik lekker de hele dag creatief bezig zijn met leuke dingen maken alvast een beetje voor de Kerst, heb er helemaal zin in!

A tiny little house on a spool and the winner of give away nr. 1 is…

En daar is de herfst! Na mooie zonnige en warme dagen in het kleurrijke oktober te hebben gehad heeft de herfst vorige week zijn entree gemaakt.

 Heb heerlijk een hartenkrans voor op de voordeur gemaakt met een hart van yoyo’s en stofjes gebruikt met herfstprint. Manden zijn gevuld met pompoenen, hop en besjes met kleurrijk blad sieren de tuin. Ben er helemaal klaar voor en zoals jullie weten hou ik ook veel van dit seizoen.

Cheerfull I have made a lovely heart wreath for the frontdoor with a heart of yoyo and fabrics used with autumn print. Baskets are filled with pumpkins, hops and berries with colourful leaves adorning the garden. I'm ready for Autumn and as you know I love this season so much.

Voor een heel lief kaboutertje heb ik dit kleine huisje gemaakt.

 For a very sweet gnome I made this little house.

Uit het boekje “point de croix et Cie – rouge” heb ik dit huisje uitgekozen en geborduurd.

Met een waslijntje om z’n sokjes te drogen… ruiken weer lekker na het harde werken met mij om de herfst in huis te brengen en zijn huisje te maken (knipoog).

Eindelijk heeft de temperatuur de afgelopen dagen de warmte bereikt…

Buiten voelt het weer heerlijk zoals het Lente seizoen moet zijn, 20 tot 25 graden.

Nog steeds vind ik het heerlijk om de stapel magazines van de Ariadne van eind jaren ’80 en begin jaren ’90 te lezen, zo inspiratievol met heerlijke ideeën voor een Country Living.

In 2 hele lieve en leuke zilveren fotolijstjes heb ik deze stitcherie gemaakt naar eigen ontwerp voor het Lente seizoen.

Dat zijn eindelijk die warme zonnestralen natuurlijk die mijn huis en mezelf weer lekker opwarmen, de ijstijd voorbij… (knipoog).

Natuurlijk ook voor diegene die mij heel veel Liefde en Vreugde brengen, ook ik denk aan ze en worden zeker gekoesterd in mijn hart. Hele lieve mailtjes ontvang ik waarom ik zo weinig schrijf, maar daar gaat verandering in komen want heb de afgelopen dagen heel veel leuke, lieve en gezellige dingen gemaakt en genoeg om te laten zien ook met hele leuke uitstapjes. Ook daarom heb ik niet zoveel geschreven en gepost.

 Raad je het al, ja… Atelier Bep had een feestje haar 10-jarig bestaan!

Had al meerdere malen in m’n blog geschreven over haar en sinds ik haar atelier voor 5 jaar geleden had ontdekt dankzij een lieve vriendin ben ik niet meer bij Bep weg te slaan.

Do you already guess, yes ... Atelier Bep had a party its her 10th anniversary!

Had several times written in my blog about her and since I discovered her five years ago with thanks to a dear friend of mine I got lovely stuck and rusty at the Atelier of Bep, I love it there so much.

Nadat ik de overheerlijke taart had opgegeten trappelde ik van ongeduld om in de winkel van Bep te kijken…

In de vijver werd je begroet door de brulkikkers met mooie liedjes die ze volgens mij voor Bep haar feestje zongen en je kon hier lekker vertoeven aan deze tafel en genieten van hun concert. (hé Gerda hihi)

 Aan deze tafel zat Liesbeth heerlijk te breien in het zonnetje en moet je nu toch eens kijken wat ze allemaal voor leuke dingen maakt, lieve zucht…

Anna nog eventjes volhouden hoor...!

En eenmaal binnen gelopen… ja toen was Cindy druk doende bezig om stofjes bij elkaar te verzamelen alvast voor een herfstquilt wat ze lekker op vakantie kan doen.

Voor 2 of 3 jaar geleden zelfs kwam de hele mooie serie uit “La petite ecole” ontworpen door French General voor Moda.

Deze vond ik weer met het opruimen van de lappenmanden maar had geen genoeg lichte stofjes die er nog bij pasten, wat is het dan heerlijk om in al die bakken met lapjes te zoeken in de winkel van Bep.

And once I walked inside her quiltshop... so Cindy was busy trying to collect some fabrics together already for an autumn quilt what she can makes in the summer holiday.

For two or three years ago the beautiful serie came out of "La petite école" designed by French General for Moda.

This I found it again with cleaning up my patch baskets but I did not have enough light fabrics that still fit in, what is it delightful then to search at the quiltshop of  Bep in all those bins with cute and lovely fabrics.

Heel gezellig kwam ik Gerda nog tegen van weblog "Kijk daar is..." 

Thuis aangekomen heb ik nog heerlijk met al deze lapjes zitten spelen en… had ook zo’n schattig quiltpatroon gevonden van Bep.

When I arrived at home I sit and play with all these lovely fabrics... and also I had find such a cute quilt pattern from Bep.

Kon uiteraard niet wachten en ben meteen van start gegaan, een lief “2 weken” quiltje noem ik het maar met de stofjes van Lynette Anderson. Deze had ik al eerder gekocht bij Bep op de handwerkbeurs dus beginnen maar…

Vandaag de top afgemaakt en ga deze week verder met doorquilten… tot mijn volgende post zal opschieten!

Obviously I could not wait and I immediately started, a sweet "2 weeks" quilt I call it with the very cute quiltfabric of Lynette Anderson. This I had bought earlier on the exhibtion stand of Bep on the craft fair so let’s get starting...

Today I finished the top and this week I want hopefully to go on with quilting... so until my next post, I will get along!
