“Strawberries, sweetness in Summer…”

Van mij een heerlijke zoete post, dit keer vanuit één van mijn zomerhoekjes.

Aardbeitjes mogen niet ontbreken in dit heerlijke Zomer seizoen.

Lange tijd geleden gemaakt met patroontje van Tilda.

Steeds weer komen deze schattige aardbeitjes tevoorschijn in de Zomer.

Nu vrolijk opgehangen, in een vergiet en aan leuke jampotjes…

Nee voor mij nog geen vakantie, ja waar was ik dan al die tijd te vinden?

Twee hele lieve meiden hebben voor mij Instagram aangemaakt, mijn dochter Jodie en haar vriendinnetje Yasmin.

En hebben wat foto’s van mijn blog geplaatst, tja ik ontkwam er niet meer aan en moest van ze leren om deze te beheren.

En oh jee,… zo begin je zelf IG’ers te volgen, foto’s te plaatsen van een dagelijkse bezigheid van mezelf waar ik bijv. mee bezig ben en voordat je het weet heb ik de smaak te pakken.

Het is zóóó leuk!

Kon het niet geloven maar in de afgelopen 5 weken zijn er inmiddels 244 IG'ers die het leuk vinden om mij te volgen.

Dank lieve IG’ers voor het volgen en voor al jullie lieve en hartelijke reacties.

Op mijn Instagram zal ik zo nu en dan een paar keer in de week wat foto’s plaatsen.

Maar natuurlijk blijf ik hier ook op mijn weblog schrijven.

No it is not yet holiday time for me, so where was I all the time?

Two sweet and lovely girls have created for me Instagram, my daughter Jodie and her friend Yasmin.

They post  some pictures of my blog post, well I can not escaped by that and they told me that I must learn and manage it.

And oh my,... I was start first to follow lovely IG's, make photos for my IG, post a daily activity of myself and before I knew it I addicted to Instagram.

It's sooo cute!

Could not believe this, because in the past five weeks there are 244 IG's who likes to follow me.

Thanks dear IG’s for following me and for all the lovely and warmly comments.

On my Instagram, I will occasionally post several times a week of my daily activity.

But of course I will stay posting on my blog here.

 Bij mij is het zomerseizoen al helemaal in ons huis te vinden en wat is het toch genieten van deze temperaturen.

Ja ik weet het, dit weekend zeer warm en behoefte naar iets verkoelends!

Heb een “coastal” plankje en als ik ernaar kijk dan mijmer ik en zie ik de zee met een heerlijke verkoelende zeebries…

Handgemaakte visjes met echte vishaakjes, kleine gewichtjes en niet te vergeten mooie oude dobbertjes. Deze heb ik ooit op een rommelmarkt gekocht.

Handmade fishes ​​with real fish hooks, small weights, not to mention beautiful old floats. I ever bought at a flea market.

Lekker visje eten aan zee, ooohhh wat verlang ik daar naar. 

Eat some fish at te sea, ooooh longing for that.

 Dit is mijn “vangst van de dag” heerlijk dromen en ervan genieten, wat is die van jou?

“My embroidered pottery sampler and toile de jouy…”

Met het kopje thee zetten vandaag op deze regenachtige dag bedacht ik ineens om jullie eindelijk mijn geborduurde serviesmerklap te laten zien.

With making a cup of tea today on this rainy day suddenly came up in my mind to finally show you  my embroidered pottery sampler.

 In diverse posten heb ik (klik) hier, hier en hier laten zien dat ik ermee bezig was maar nooit helemaal af en in een lijstje.

In several posts which I have post (click) here, here and here I showed that I was working on it but never shown completely finished and in a frame.

 In 2008 ben ik ermee begonnen en heb in het jaar 2011 dit serviesmerklap afgemaakt.

In 2008 I started it and in the year 2011 finished this embroidery pottery sampler.

Komt uit het blad Ariadne, februari 1993.

Pattern comes from the magazine Ariadne, in February 1993.

Stond afgebeeld in het blauw en heb deze zelf naar de kleurtint rood omgevormd omdat zoals velen inmiddels weten dat de tinten rood toch echt mijn favoriete woonkleuren zijn.

Was depicted in blue and I have it converted to the colour tint red because as you know that the reds shades are really my favorite living colors.

 In het lente en zomer seizoen verander ik in huis naar zachtere rode tinten, crème, wit en combineer ik meestal met naturel linnenkleur.

Koraalrood geniet ook zo mijn voorkeur, lekker fris oogt het voor als de buitentemperaturen gaan stijgen.

In the spring and summer season at home I change into softer shades of red, cream, white, and I usually combine with natural linen color.

Coral red is also my preference, it looks nice and fresh for when the outside temperatures rise.

 Zo ben ik dan voor 2 jaar geleden begonnen met het verzamelen van Engels servies, deze theepot heb ik gekregen van een hele lieve tante Ineke.

Lekker verzamelen op de rommelmarkten en soms ontvang ik deze zelfs kado van lieve vriendinnen als ze het ook tegenkomen.

Vindt het zo’n lieflijk servies wat goed past met toile de jouy wat ik ook zo mooi vind.

So I began for 2 years ago collecting English pottery, this teapot I received from a very dear aunt Ineke as a gift.

Nice gathering at the flea markets and sometimes I even get a gift from dear friends when they encounter it.

It is so lovely pottery tableware which fits perfect with the fabric toile de Jouy, love it.

Op de bank tref je dan ook mijn zelfgemaakte toile de jouy kussens aan en met de tijd ook de lampekapjes maar aangepast hihi…

On the couch you also find my homemade toile de jouy cushions and with time passing even the lampshades also adapted, lol ...

 Heb er mooi kant op gemaakt met yoyo rondjes van de toile de jouy stof en een lieflijk lintje.

Ben zo zuinig op deze stof  en heb gelukkig nog over voor andere doeleinden…

Stitch on beautiful lace, made ​​yoyo circles of toile de Jouy fabric and placed a lovely ribbon on the cushion cover.

 Van het weekend belooft het heerlijk warm te worden met veel zonneschijn dan zal ik op dit bankje gaan zitten met een leuk handwerkje.

Helaas had de schommelbank het vorig jaar begeven maar dit sofabed is ook heerlijk en ik kan er helemaal even in wegdommelen.

This weekend the weather promises to be lovely and warm with lots of sunshine and I will sit down with a “work in progress” handcraft project on this couch.

Unfortunately, the porch swing broke down last year but this sofa is also very good and I can totally doze in here.

“Oh what a beautiful morning…”

Wat is het toch heerlijk als je ’s ochtends wakker wordt gemaakt met het vroege zonlicht door je ramen.

En als ik mijn oogjes langzaam open doe dan kijk ik naar dit quiltje en lees… “Oh what a beautiful morning”.

De dag zo fijn starten met een positieve tekst, daar wordt je toch heel blij en vrolijk van.

It is so wonderful when you wake in the morning with the early sunlight through your windows.

And when my eyes are slowly open I look at this quilt and read ... "Oh what a beautiful morning."

The day starts so fine with a positive text,  you will become very happy and cheerful reading it.

Dit quiltje hangt in de slaapkamer en ja totaal ander kleurgebruik dan het gebruikelijke rood en crème/ wit wat ik doorgaans in ons huis gebruikt.

Lekkere frisse blauwe kleurtjes wat een rust geeft gemengd met andere mooie en ook frisse kleuren.

Quiltpatroon had ik ooit gekocht bij atelier Bep en vond het héél leuk om deze te maken.

This quilt hangs in the bedroom and yes the use of the colours are totally different than the usual red and cream/ white which I usually use in our house.

Fresh different blue colours which gives a touch of peace mixed with other beautiful and bright colours too.

Quilt Pattern I had ever bought at atelier Bep and found it very fun and lovely to make it.

 Ook ik werd betoverd door de sterren blokken wat ik vorig jaar in een aantal blogs zag…

Ja wilde ze ook dolgraag maken, maar wat?

Also, I was enchanted by the stars blocks what I saw in some blogs last year ...

Yes I also wanted so badly to make those, but what? 

Natuurlijk de ochtend sterren werden het voor mij en maakte er kussenhoezen van. Nog een gekoesterde wens van mij om ooit nog een hele grote mooie bijpassende quilt te maken voor op bed.

Of course, the morning stars that was it for me and so I made cushion covers.

Another cherished wish of mine to ever make a big beautiful matching bed quilt.

Judy Collins (zangeres) heeft ooit een heel mooi liedje gezongen en vond de tekst “Bright morning stars are rising” toepasselijk bij deze post.

Judy Collins (singer) had sung once a very beautiful song and found the text "Bright morning stars are rising" applicable to this post.

Kussentje gemaakt gevuld met lavendel, plaatje van een kaart wat ik ooit van een hele lieve vriendin Sietske heb gekregen.

“Baking cookies for the weekend…”

Heerlijk, het weekend is gestart…

En op deze vrije dag ben ik lekker aan de slag gegaan om deze leuke koekjespot te vullen met zelfgebakken koekjes.

Deliciously the weekend started ...

And on this free day off I want to bake some homemade cookies to fill these cute cookie jar.

Deze koekjespot met engeltjes heb ik afgelopen Kerst kado gekregen van mijn lieve vriendin Janny.

Vind de pot té leuk om met de Kerstdecoratie op te bergen en wilde er iets op bedenken zodat ik de post het hele jaar door kan gebruiken.

This cookie jar with angels on it I got last Christmas as a present from my dear friend Janny.

Find the pot too cute to use it only at Christmas time and I was thinking up of something so I can use the cookie jar all year round.

En ineens is het idee ontstaan en heb ik een hoesje gemaakt met een leuk label erop met een leuke tekst.

And suddenly the idea came, and I made a slipcover with a nice label on it with a lovely text.

Stof met hartjes geweven, linnen om de tekst erop te stitchen, gezellig ruche randje en wat parelmoer knoopjes.

Fabric with woven hearts, linens for to stitch the text, gentle ruffle gingham edge and some pearl buttons.

Ervoor en erna…., en nu vullen maar met zelfgebakken koekjes!

Koekjesdeeg gemaakt, met deze leuke “home made” koekjes eruit gestanst en klaar om gebakken te worden.

Made cookie dough and ​​with this cute "home made" punch, I shaped the cookies out and ready to be baked.

In de tussentijd ben ik weer heerlijk in dit verhaal gedoken van het boek “de Kerstquilt” geschreven door Jennifer Chiaverini.

Had al een paar boeken liggen maar deze was nog echt een wens van mij.

Rond de Kerst zag ik deze liggen in de boekhandel. Kon mijn ogen gewoon niet geloven met een feest van herkenning en jubelde het uit dat Libelle deze uitgebracht had in magazine vorm.

Ben zelf niet een fanatieke lezeres als het gaat om boeken maar deze ging uiteraard mee in m’n tas en sinds de Kerst ben ik al aan het lezen, al meer dan op de helft en je kan er zo heerlijk in verdwijnen. Het verhaal is absoluut hartverwarmend en zo mooi.

In the meantime, start reading in this in this delightful story from the book "The Christmas Quilt" written by Jennifer Chiaverini.

I had already a few books from her but this one was still really a wish of mine.

Around Christmas, I saw this magazine lying in the bookstore. I just could not believe my eyes and I had a feast of recognition and shouted for joy that publisher Libelle had it released in magazine form.

I am not an avid reader when it comes to books, but obviously this bookmagazine I really want to read it and since Christmas I have been reading this book and now I am more than half of the book with reading, you can really disappear in the story. The story is absolutely heartwarming and very beautiful.

Inmiddels gaat de kookwekker af en haal de bakplaat uit de oven…

Niet lachen jullie (ik zie nu echt de glimlachen op jullie gezichten), inderdaad de bakplaat is één hele grote koek geworden hahahahah….

Heb het af laten koelen en maar zelf in stukjes gebroken. Ja, ze smaken overheerlijk deze butterscotch cookies en heb mijn koekjespot gevuld voor het weekend!

Meanwhile, the timer goes off and I remove the baking sheet from the oven ...

Let it cool off and broken this large cookie into pieces. Yes, and butterscotch cookies they taste very delicious and have my cookie jar filled for the weekend!

En Tiki kijkt ook niet meer zo nors want hij is nu ook blij dat vrouwtje weer tijd voor hem heeft.

And Tiki looks not so grumpy anymore because he is now happy that I have time for him again.
