"Christmas Blessings"

Vandaag nog even nagenieten van de gezellige en liefdevolle kerstdagen, heerlijk samenzijn met allemaal dierbaren en ons huis was gevuld met Liefde… En een laatste blik van onze kerstboom vol met zelfgemaakte “Tilda” winter vogeltjes en vogelhuisjes.

Al die gezellige kadootjes zijn inmiddels uitgepakt op kerstavond, we zijn allemaal enorm verwend door Santa. Deze avond zijn we altijd met ons drietjes bij elkaar met onze lieve poezen "Oma" Donna (echt een blessing dat ze nog steeds bij ons mag zijn) en Siepie.

Today an afterglow of our cosiness and loving Christmas days, gathering with loved ones also the house was filled with Love... And a last look at our Christmas tree which is filled with self made “Tilda” winter birds and bird houses.All those nice presents have been opened on Christmas Eve, we all are greatly spoiled by Santa. This evening we are always the three of us together with our lovely cats "Grandma" Donna (a blessing she is still with us) and Siepie.

Deze kaars is voor de zoon van Ingrid van weblog “Supergoof” die ik onlangs nog had ontmoet, haar lieve zoon Dick is net voor de kerst opgenomen in het ziekenhuis. Om ze in gedachten bij te staan steken we voor hen deze kaars aan met een hart en hopen dat Dick spoedig hersteld van zijn ziekte.
Ook hebben wij deze kaars aangestoken voor diegene die het nu zo moeilijk hebben in deze tijd of strijden voor hun leven, wij gedenken hen ook. Hoop voor allemaal dat er betere tijden aanbreken!

This candle is for the son of Ingrid from the weblog "Supergoof" recently I had met her, her dear son Dick stay just before Christmas in the hospital. We think them in mind and we are lightning for them this candle with a heart and hope that Dick soon recovered from his illness.We also light this candle for those who has such a difficult time now or fighting for their lives, we think of them too. Hope for all that soon there will be better times!

“Writing Christmas Cards…”

Ga zo heerlijk de kerstkaarten schrijven, even een momentje denken aan degene voor wie het geadresseerd is en ze lieve kerstwensen sturen.
Deze zijn inmiddels ontvangen, ze zijn voor mijn ouders en schoonmoeder.

I start with writing Christmas cards this evening, just one moment of thinking of the person for whom it is addressed and to send them lovely Christmas greetings. These have been received, they are for my parents and mother.

Door deze “postcard” kwam ik op het idee tijdens de gezellige kerst open dag van Stoffen en Stofferen in Bussum om ze te verrassen met deze leuke Kerst samplers.

For this "postcard" I got the idea during the Christmas opening days of the quiltshop “Stoffen en Stofferen” in the town of Bussum, to surprise them with those lovely Christmas samplers.

“Christmas Sunday at Atelier Bep”

Op 29 november j.l. hield Bep haar “Kerst Zondag”, al maanden keek ik hier naar uit.
Vorig jaar was het ook al zo gezellig en zo’n lekkere huiselijke sfeer hangt er, heerlijk.
De “Kerst Zondag” houdt ze altijd bij haar thuis in Hall, in Doesburg had ze een winkel.
Ja, ik schrijf had want daar is ze mee opgehouden en heeft ze weer haar gezellige atelier en winkel thuis.

On November 29th, Bep held her "Christmas Sunday", for months I looked forward to this day. Last year it was all so cozy and homey atmosphere, lovely. The "Christmas Sunday" is always at her home in Hall, she had also a shop in Doesburg. Yes, I write “had” because she stopped with her shop in Doesburg and remove this to her cozy home and have there her lovely studio and shop.

Daar kwam ik aangereden in het weiland naast Bep en werd ik begroet door deze lieve paardjes van de buren.
Met allemaal tasjes in m’n handen (kadootjes voor Bep zie kransje hierboven met baby bird, lieve mailers en webloggers natuurlijk) kwam ik hier terecht. En zo heerlijk woont Bep, fantastisch hé!
Met een warme ontvangst na het weerzien van enkele lieve mailers, heb ik eerst Bep helemaal onder geknuffeld hihihi… zeker een half jaar heb ik haar niet gezien. En het is ook zo’n lieverd.

There I was, I parked my car in the meadow beside Bep her house and I was greeted by these lovely horses of the neighbors. With all my bags in my hands (presents for dear mailers and webloggers and ofcourse Bep) I came in her house. And so wonderful lives Bep here, great don’t you think! With a warm welcome of some dear mailers, I first cuddled Bep hihihi ... it was certainly a half years that I have not seen her. And she is a sweetheart.

Ging meteen door naar haar huiskamer om aan te schuiven voor een gezellig workshop.
Zoals altijd (ahum) kom ik ietsje later dan gepland en Bep was het aan het uitleggen wat we gingen maken. Twee leuke vogeltjes die gezellig zitten op een kerst doosje.

Went straight to her living room to my spot for a fun workshop. As always (ahem)I arrived a little bit later than planned, and Bep was already explain what we were making. Two cute little birds that sit on a nice Christmas box.

En tussendoor werd dit schaaltje geserveerd met jawel chocolade harten, mmmm…. Mijn buurvrouw was die lieve Coby met daarnaast Wendy, waren samen gekomen met een quiltvriendin Jolanda van de bee en haar moeder zo gezellig.
Tijdens zo’n workshop kan ik niet stil zitten hahaha want ik wil dan zo graag wandelen in haar keuken, tuin, pipowagen en winkel/atelier, echt zo genieten.
En daar ging ik… zal het je even laten zien wat ik ben tegen gekomen...

And in between this dish was served with chocolate hearts, mmmm .... My neighbor of the workshop was sweet Coby with Wendy, had come together with a quilt friend Jolanda of there quilt bee with her mother so nice. During such a workshop, I can not sit still hahaha… so exciting because I want to walk and look in her kitchen, garden, pipowagen and shop / studio, that is always so enjoying and gorgeous to see. And there I went for a walk... I'll just show you what I have seen.

There was also sweet Loeki selling georgeous Emma Bridgewater cups.And a lady who was demonstrating knitting, what a range of lovely colours...

The wonderful "Elf quilt" of Simone, finally I could cuddle it hihihi...What a fantastic handmade quilt she made with a lot of stitches, designer Gail Pan put a picture of this quilt on her blog!

This I wish very much a veranda/porch in my garden like her at Bep's place, I keep on wishing and dreaming about it! Here I sat so cosy with Bep for a lovely chat.

Back in the living room of Bep, there was her lovely and beautiful cat "Truffel"! She lay down at my handcraft basket, so sweet. Bep has also a dog "Doddy" and a big black cat.

Tijd om weer naar huis te gaan en kijk dan… ben wéér zo verwend!
Deze geweldige kerst kado’s gingen met mij mee, echt TE gek!

Time to go home and look... again I am so spoiled!Whit this great Christmas gifts I went home, really TOO great!

Dit is echt teveel, ben er zo onwijs blij mee met deze prachtige kerst kado's!

En dan kom ik zo heerlijk thuis vol inspiratie en terugdenkend aan al die lieve mensen die ik heb gesproken en mogen ontmoeten, zo hartverwarmend en wat een fantastische dag!

And so I come home full of wonderful inspiration and thinking back to all those dear people I have spoken and meet, so heartwarming and what a fantastic day it was!

Dan hoef ik alleen dit heerlijke maaltijdje op te warmen die mijn vader ons bezorgd heeft, HEERLIJK!
Mijn moeder zit in een kookgroep van haar kerk en na afloop van de kerkdienst kunnen de kerkgangers heerlijke Indonesische maaltijden tegen een vergoeding opeten en nog even lekker samenzijn.
De vergoeding is bestemd voor arme wees kindertjes en baby’tjes in Indonesië.
En wij als gezin kopen het maar al te graag zo’n maaltijdje en onze gedachten gaan uit naar die kindertjes, we hopen dan ook dat ze nog lang en heerlijk mag koken!

Then all I have to do for dinnertime is to warm up this meal that my dad has brought us, DELICIOUS!My mother is cooking in a group of her church and after the church service, the people who was listen to the church service they can buy some delicious Indonesian food and eat together.The money is for babies and poor orphan children in Indonesia.And we as family love to buy such a meal from my mother and our thoughts go out to those children, we hope that my mother can still cook for a long time!

Inmiddels is Nederland gehuld onder een witte deken van sneeuw, zo prachtig.
Trek zo even de laarzen aan voor een wandeling met m’n man (als het natuurlijk even ophoudt met sneeuwen hihi)… en genieten! En bij thuiskomst een lekkere warme kop chocolademelk met slagroom drinken bij de kerstboom…

Meanwhile now the Netherlands is shrouded under a blanket of white snow, so beautiful.So I just pull the boots on for a walk with my husband in the snow (when it stops snowing ofcourse hihihi)... and enjoy! Then go home for a nice cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream sitting by our Christmas Tree...

“A Christmas Gift from my heart for You…”

Dit bericht is een vervolg op mijn voorgaande bericht.
Het liefst zou ik de Award wel aan iedereen willen doorgeven net als voorgaande maar nu doe ik dit door jullie dit bijgaand kerst kadootje te geven!
Als dank voor jullie warme en lieve reacties en het lezen van m’n blog.
Op de kerstzondag bij Atelier Bep zag ik in een klein lijstje een klein schattig kerstboom stitcherie met als kerstballen hele kleine bellen, zo lief.
Was er zo geïnspireerd door en heb ik zelf een patroontje ontworpen en uitgewerkt tot een stitcherie.

Dit heb je in een heerlijk avondje bij de kerstboom af, zo leuk om te doen.
Bij ons staat dit lijstje (Xenos) al heel gezellig op de winkelkast en iedere keer als ik er langs loop heb ik het even in m’n handen.

Preferably I would forward this award to anyone but now I do it with this attached little Christmas gift!To thank you for your warm and kind comments and reading my blog.On a “Christmas Sunday” at Atelier Bep I saw a small frame with a cute lovely little Christmas tree stitcherie and tiny bells were used for Christmas balls, so sweet.Was so inspired, I personally designed a pattern and developed to a stitcherie.
I am sure you have a wonderful evening making this by the Christmas tree and finished it also, so fun to do.This little frame got a cozy place on the store cupboard and every time I past I pick this little frame up to look at it.

“I’m too spoiled with lovely presents… and A Christmas Gift for You”

Dag allemaal, eindelijk kan ik weer schrijven.
Ik waarschuw je maar vast want dit wordt wel een héééle lange post, hahaha… dat krijg je als je een tijd niet hebt geschreven. (niet in slaap vallen hoor)
Zijn jullie al lekker in kerstsferen gehuld? Ik wel en ik vind het heerlijk zo met al die leuke kerstversieringen om me heen.
Al zeven weken galmde de kerstliedjes van Bing Crosby en Nat King Cole door ons huis heen, fantastisch hahaha….
Ben zo aan het genieten en… nog meer genieten doe ik van prachtige kado’s die ik heb ontvangen van ontzettende lieve engelen, blijf lezen en in mijn volgend berichtje heb ik een kerst presentje voor jullie.

Op m’n deurmat lag er bij thuiskomst van m’n werk een heerlijk pakje en kwam er een prachtige kaart uit met een afbeelding erop met een regen van harten, GEWELDIG!

Onder zo’n regen wil ik wel zonder paraplu onder wandelen…
En met het verder uitpakken van de envelop kwamen deze kado’s eruit, TE GEK!
Afkomstig van m’n lieve weblogvriendin Ingrid van “My Day”, helaas hebben we elkander nog niet live ontmoet maar dat gaat zeker gebeuren in 2010.

Dit hart heeft ze n.a.v. het boek “Speelgoed & Kadootjes om zelf te maken” van Caroline Zoob gemaakt, een TE leuk boek.
Ik kon alleen nog maar “Oooohhhhh” roepen en “wat prachtig”!
Te gek hé vind je niet?
Op haar blog had ik al een reactie geschreven wat een geweldige vondst ze daar had en raad eens wat na wat zoeken op internet heb ik inmiddels het boek ook gekocht bij http://www.kinderboekenkast.nl/ en ligt nu bij m’n verzameling hobby boeken, hoera!

En dan schreef ze me: “De drie witte knoopjes moet jou gezinnetje voorstellen en de twee kleine roze knoopjes jij en ik” (lieve zucht).
Werd er helemaal stil van na het lezen van haar kaart en het uitpakken van het prachtige kado met lekkers!
Lieve Ingrid, vanuit mijn hart wil ik je hartelijk danken voor deze enorme verwennerij en je bent TE gek!
Hele dikke ♥ zoen van mij!

Ja en dan kwam het bericht van ook zo’n lieve weblogvriendin Miranda dat ik een kadootje mocht ophalen en jawel het is de “Kreativ Blog Award”, hiep hiep hoeraaaa…..!
Met blozende wangen van verlegenheid mag ik deze presenteren op m’n blog.
Miranda, ook voor jou vanuit mijn hart ontzettend bedankt voor deze Award.
Maar dit heb ik natuurlijk ook aan jullie lezers te danken voor de hele lieve en spontane reacties het geeft mij altijd zoveel inspiratie, soms wel teveel!

Voor mij is creativiteit echt een ware ontspanning, er ligt altijd een werkje klaar om te borduren, haken, breien of patchen op de tafel.
Mijn dag begint bij het ontbijt met het zetten van steekjes anders begint de dag niet goed, zo erg is het al met me gesteld hahahah…..


Nu las ik dat ik zeven dingen over mezelf moet vertellen wat jullie nog niet weten van mij, dat is moeilijk want ik er vertel al zoveel over mezelf…(ahum, niet lachen)!
Hier komen ze dan:
1. Deze tijd van het jaar vind ik de mooiste tijd van het jaar, heerlijk van elkander en alle mooie gezellige lichtjes genieten en de kerstgedachte. Richting Januari de wintertijd ervaren en begin je dan met rust. Op 1 januari trek ik altijd witte kleding aan en ons huis zal dan heerlijk geuren met witte hyacintjes en narcisjes.
2. Strijd heb ik met roken, vorig jaar 5 maanden gestopt geweest totdat ik dus 1 januari 2009 op de tandarts stoel beland na 2 weken flinke kiespijn. Hoop dat ik binnenkort weer de mentaliteit hebt om te stoppen, was een heel leuk potje wat ik had gespaard.
3. Werk 3 dagen in de week (in drukke tijden meer) als Office Manager in het breedste zin van het woord bij een heel leuk bedrijf/groep, al bijna 10 jaar. Een onzettende leuke baan, gelukkig druk en ik ben in dit bedrijf eigenlijk een duizendpootje. Wij verzorgen veiligheidstrainingen zoals, BHV, Omgaan met Agressie & Geweld en Overvalpreventie wat heel enthousiast wordt ontvangen door de deelnemers. Is ook wel een beetje m’n passie geworden, want dat is gekomen doordat ik mensen zag reanimeren om een leven te redden en wat heb ik dan een mooie job dat we mensen hierin kunnen opleiden en trainen.
4. Ben een ontzettende snoeperd, vooral chocola… An chocolat a day, keeps the doctor away hahaha… is mijn motto. (Vrouwen hebben dat gewoon nodig hoor)
Wel met mate want ook ik ken de strijd met calorietjes, vreselijk.
Voor een heerlijke zak friet mag je me wakker maken, HEERLIJK!
Maar ook voor het Indische eten van m’n moeder.
5. Op het moment tennis ik maar alles wat te maken hebt met dans vind ik geweldig en dat laatste wil en doe ik maar al te graag. En soms in huis dans ik gewoon lekker in de rondte als ik een geweldig nummer op de radio hoor.
6. Volgens mijn man heb ik ook een schoenentik hihihi… Als ik in zo’n land als Italië ben geweest dan kom ik met 5 paar gemiddeld thuis. (ja erg hé, sorry ik weet het)
7. Heb modevakschool gedaan en ben voor mijn huidige baan ontwerpster/styliste geweest in kinderkleding. Had aan huis ook een klein zaakje, was een tuinhuis waarin ik werkte en dat was m’n atelier waar ik vele uurtjes zat.
Naast het maken en ontwerpen van deze kinderkleding gaf ik ook workshops in groen- en woondecoraties, was een hele leuke tijd. Maar helaas kon ik er destijds niet een goede verdienste uithalen en de accountant vond het verstandiger als ik het hobbymatig deed. Teleurgesteld in mezelf natuurlijk en heb daarna 6 jaar lang geen naald en draad meer aangeraakt. Totdat ik met m’n hartsvriendin Ellen voor een weekend naar London ging voor Christmas Shopping. Ik zat toen niet lekker in m’n vel en tijdens een etentje daar vertelde ze me: “Weet je wat jij moet doen, lekker borduren”. Ik keek haar verbaasd aan en was er eigenlijk een beetje verbolgen onder, “borduren” zei ik tegen haar. Dat doen we wel als ik jou een steunkous mag aantrekken hahaha… Bij thuiskomst toch naar haar geluisterd en voorzichtig aan m’n boeken tevoorschijn gehaald en een borduurtje gemaakt.
En tot op de dag van vandaag ben ik haar zó ontzettend dankbaar dat ze me net dat duwtje in de rug gaf, wist precies wat ik nodig had!
En ja, in 2007 ben ik bekend geworden met de quilters en handwerkwereld d.m.v. het lappenpopje wat ik heb gekregen van Tanja uit het atelier van Bep. Daar ben ik Tanja ook zo dankbaar voor. Hoe toepasselijk op haar schort: “Listen to your heart”! En het lappenpopje heeft dan ook nog een hart tegen haar oor aan gedrukt, lief hé! En wat dit voor wending heeft gegeven lezen jullie op m’n blog.

En voor nu heb ik een Christmas Gift voor jullie vanwege de Award die ik heb mogen ontvangen. Op naar m’n volgend bericht!

Hello everybody, finally I can write again.

I warn you this will be a very long post, hahaha ... that become when I not write for such a long time. (do not fall in sleep ok)

Are you all wrapped in Christmas spheres? I am and I love it so much with all those Christmas decorations around me. For seven weeks we already hear the Christmas songs of Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole in our house, so great ... hahaha. I am so enjoying it all and…even more I do enjoy of beautiful gifts that I may received from sweet angels, just keep reading and in my next message I have a little Christmas gift for you.

When I got home from work there I found on my doormat a wonderful package a beautiful card with a picture on it with a rain of hearts, GREAT!Under that rain I would like to walk without an umbrella...And with unpacking of the envelope, these gifts came out, so great!From my dear friend Ingrid blog of "My Day", unfortunately we do not have met each other yet but that will definitely happen in 2010.The heart what Ingrid has made for me comes from this book "Toys & Gifts to make yourself" by Caroline Zoob such a inspirational book.I only could shouting like "Oooohhhhh" and "how beautiful" when I was unpacking the presents!On her blog, I had already react that she had found a great book and guess what, after some searching on the internet I already found the book at www.kinderboekenkast.nl and is now in my collection of hobby books, hurray !

And then she wrote me: "The three white buttons are your family and the two small pink buttons you and me" (little sigh).Was completely silent after reading her card and unpacking of the beautiful gift and goodies!Dear Ingrid, from my heart I thank you for this great gift and you are great!

You get a big ♥kiss from me!

And then came the message of even such a dear weblog friend Miranda that I could pick a gift and yes it is the "Kreativ Blog Award", hip hip hooraaayyy..!With red cheeks of embarrassment I may presented it on my blog.

Miranda, for you from my heart thank you very much for this lovely award.

But also thanks to you dear lovely readers for the very sweet and spontaneous reactions I always receive and it gives me so much inspiration, sometimes too much!For me creativity is really a true relaxation, on my table there is always a little work for to do some handcrafting like embroidery, crochet, knitting or patching.My day begins at breakfast with some stitches otherwise my day is not starting well, this is me now hahahah…

Now I read that I must write seven things about myself what you do not know of me, that's difficult because I tell already so much about myself ... (ahem, do not laugh)!

Here they are:

1. This time of year I find it the most wonderful time of the year, enjoy and spending the time with each other, Christmas thoughts and enjoy all those cosy Christmas lights. The upcoming winter season in January and start the new year with peace and calmness. On January 1 I always dress my self in white clothes and our home will smell delicious from white hyacinth and narcissus.

2. I struggle with smoking, last year I was stopped for 5 months until on January 1, 2009 when I sat on the dentist's chair with 2 weeks big toothache. I hope shortly to have the mentality to stop because when I quit smoking I save some money.

3. Work 3 days a week as Office Manager in the broadest sense of the word in a very nice company / group, for almost 10 years. Enormously nice job, I'm happily busy in this company and I am actually a thousand-feet. We provide safety training such as Emergency Response, Dealing with Violence & Aggression and robbery prevention. With such a great enthusiasm of our course is receiving by the participants. Has also become a bit of my passion, because for that I saw people to resuscitate to save one life and then I thought what do I have a wonderful job that we can educate people and train for perchance saving lifes.

4. I terrible love candy, especially chocolate... “An chocolate a day, keeps the doctor away hahaha ... “ is my motto. (Women needed those) But in little parts since I know the fight with calories, terrible. For a delicious bag of fries/chips you can also wake me up, I love it! And also the Indonesian food of my mother.

5. At the moment I play tennis but everything to do with dance I love that kind of sport so much. And sometimes I just enjoy to dance at home when I hear a great song on the radio.

6. According to my husband I have a shoe mania hihihi ... When I'm in a country like Italy I come home with 5 pair of shoes. (sorry I know)

7. I finished Fashion/design school and for my current job I was a designer/stylist in child fashion.
I’ve got a shop at home in a small barn, where I worked and that was my studio/atelier where I spent many hours making children clothes. Besides making and design of those children clothes, I also gave workshops in green herbage- and home decorations, that was a great and creative time. But unfortunately I could not make a good merit and the accountant found it wiser when I work for hobby. Disappointed in myself of course and for 6 years I did not touch a needle and thread. Until I went with my best friend Ellen to London for a weekend for Christmas shopping. At that time I was not feeling well with myself and when we enjoy our dinner there she told me: "You know what you should do, please do some embroidery”. I looked surprised at her and I feel actually a little angry inside, "embroidery" I told her. “I will do that when we are old and I put you some stockings on hahaha ...” In return from our weekend in London I just listened to her and carefully I search in my hobby books for embroidery patterns and made a little embroidery stitching. And until this day I am so very grateful to her she just gave that helping hand, knew exactly what I needed!

And yes, in 2007 I became familiar with the quilters and crafts world through a pattern for a doll rag that I received from Tanja from the studio of Bep. I am also very grateful to Tanja. How appropriate, the lovely text on her apron of the rag doll: "Listen to your heart"! And the rags doll also has an heart pressed against her ear, how sweet! And what this twist has given in my life you can read it all on my blog.
And now I have a Christmas gift for you because of the Award that I may receive.

Made for my daughter in style of Pip Studio…

Onze dochter is helemaal gek van PIP studio, onlangs hebben we haar kamer eindelijk in deze stijl veranderd.
Maar we (eigenlijk ik dan) hebben samen nog een creatief lijstje af te werken want ze wil graag nog kussens in de vorm van een hart en gordijntjes moeten ook nog aangepast worden en natuurlijk wil ze een leuke handgemaakte quilt gemaakt door mij in de stijl van PIP studio… Ja, heb nog wel wat te doen.
Ben eerst maar gestart met kleine creaties, zoals haar saaie brillenhoesje en een tasje voor haar PSP.

Voor het brillenhoesje heb ik een op een lichtblauw gebreid lapje op rood vilt een stitcherie gemaakt van het meisje van PIP studio en op de achterkant een klein zakje gemaakt voor de brillendoekjes.

Voor haar PSP een verzameling aan lapjes van Tilda, geruite stof en hier komt de stitcherie ook weer in terug vastgezet met pins van Tilda, versierd met een gehaakt bloemetje en leuke sierbandjes.

In deze kleurtjes is haar kamer inmiddels aangepast en tijdens het maken van deze creaties werd ik er ook helemaal vrolijk van!
Zo leuk dat je dan zo’n kamer kan binnenstappen…

Nog leuker is dat ik van de week een heel mooi postpakje hebt ontvangen en een bericht over een Award maar… dat wordt m’n volgende post!

Our daughter is totally crazy of the style from PIP studio, recently we have changed her room in this style.But we (actually I am) made a creative list of wishes to do because she want to have pillows in the shape of a heart and curtains should also be changed and of course she wants a nice handmade quilt made by me in the style of PIP studio ... Yes, I have something to do. First I started with some little creations, like her dull spectacle case and a bag for her PSP
I used for the eyeglass case a piece of light blue knitted cloth and made on a piece of red felt a stitcherie from the girl of PIP studio and on the back of this case a small bag where she can put her glasses wipes.For her PSP an collection of patches from Tilda and checkered fabrics and again the stitcherie put down by pins of Tilda, decorated with a crocheted flower and nice decorative straps.

With those colors we adjusted her room now and during the making of these creations, I become so cheerful!How nice that I can step inside a room in these cheerful colors...Even more cheerful is that I received by mail a very nice package and also received a message for an award ... but that is my next post!Up for a nice (creative) weekend, heartgreetings from Cindy

“Drinking Autumn tea with my dolls and …”

Buiten begint het al wat frisjes te worden, tijd om binnen heerlijk de kachel aan te zetten.
En ik zet wat thee water op…
Het is wisselvallig weer met af en toe een bui en als de regen tikt tegen de ramen dan drink ik gezellig een kopje thee met m’n lappenpoppen…(voor de rest gaat alles wel goed met mij hoor hihihi)

Heb voor ze heerlijk zittende meubeltjes gekocht een beetje in de stijl van shaker met een tafeltje erbij. Daar hoort natuurlijk een quiltje als tafelkleed erop met een rood wit gestippeld serviesje, gezellig.
Ik hoor de fluitketel al roepen en schenk een lekker kopje herfst thee in, drink je met me mee?

De laatste tijd ben ik nogal erg druk geweest en m’n man vroeg op een zondag even twee uurtjes van mijn tijd nadat we de dressuurwedstrijd hebben gekeken van m’n dochter.
We reden even wat rond maar moest nodig naar toilet en reden langs Hotel Paviljoen in Rhenen.
Ik zei tegen m’n man, zullen we hier even een kopje koffie drinken dan kan ik meteen naar toilet… Hij vertelde me dat dit geen kopje koffie gingen worden maar hij heeft voor ons twee een heerlijke High Tea gereserveerd in het hotel.
Wilde me even “down to earth” halen voordat ik mezelf weer voorbij loop, wat heb ik toch een ontzettende lieverd!
Met wat betraande oogjes van ontroering zat ik aan de tafel met al deze heerlijkheden, mmmm….

Outside the weather is feeling pretty cool, time to enjoy inside the house within the heater on. And I put some tea water in the kettle ... It is changeable weather and as the rain tapped on the windows then I drink a nice cup of tea with my rag dolls ... (don’t worry it is all okay with me hihihi) For the rag doll I had purchased little sitting furniture in shaker style with a small table.
On the table there must be a quilt using as a tablecloth on it with a dotted red white little tea set, so cozy.

I hear the kettle flute calling and the autumn tea is ready, will you drink with me a nice cup of autumn tea?

Lately I've been quite busy and my husband asked me on a Sunday just two hours of my time after we have looked a dressage competition of my daughter. We drove around a bit in the car but I must go to the bathroom and we past the Hotel Pavilion in the town of Rhenen. I told my husband, we will take a cup of coffee here so I can go for using the bathroom...
He told me that it would not be coffee but he arranged for us a lovely High Tea at the hotel.
He wanted me back “down to earth” before I get myself passing again, what do I have a sweetheart! With tearful eyes of emotion I sat at the table with all these delicious food, mmmm .... Wish you a lot of warm cosiness coming weeks, Cin love x

Open days at the quiltshop “Stoffen & Stofferen in the town of Bussum”

Op 12 september j.l. ben ik samen met twee gezellige en hele lieve dames Tanja en Renske naar de open dag geweest van de quiltwinkel “Stoffen & Stofferen in Bussum.

De bedoeling was dat ik een “ochtendje” deze quiltwinkel zou gaan bezoeken maar dat werd een HELE gezellige dag en bepakt en bezakt liep ik de deur uit met 4 tassen…, heel schaamteloos hahaha!
Voor mij echt een fantastische dag om op terug te kijken, ontzettend veel gelachen (de mensen die mij kennen weten dat ik altijd zo bulder.. en vuur lachsalvo’s af) verder hebben er ook hele bijzondere ontmoetingen plaats gevonden en teveel LEUKE dingen in de winkel in de sferen van herfst/winter.

Zoals met Coby, zei geeft mij altijd leuke reacties per mail, de allerleukste vond ik toch wel dat ze geen Libelle meer kocht maar blogs volgde hahaha…
En door Sietske werd ik aangesproken die mij herkende van mijn blog, gek hoor als mensen je dan herkennen hahaha…
Maar o zo leuk, Coby en Sietske mailen mij en te gek dat ik ze dan eens “live” mag ontmoeten!

Handmade quilts... so BEAUTIFUL!

Jaaa, en daar hebben we weer het quiltje "Home is the Happiest Place"! Leuk hé die 2 kussentjes al in winterse sferen..., ik heb de samplers gekocht!

Yes, here we have the little weekendquilt "Home is the Happiest Place"! How cute are the 2 cusions in the sphere of Winter..., I've bougth the samplers!

Uuuhhh.... moet ik hier nog wat bij vermelden hihihi.... Jawel ik prijs me gelukkig met het boek Country Hearts, wintereditie. Heel gezellig boek en TE leuke borduurpatronen! Het ook zo te gekke boek Gluckspilze (gelukspaddestoel) had ik gekregen voor mijn verjaardag van m'n werk met hele leuke stofjes erbij, pakketje door Tanja samengesteld in deze winkel.

Uuuuhhh... should I tell you more about this picture hihihi... Oh yes, I am so happy that I'm the owner of this book Country Hearts, winteredition. So cosy book with lot of TOO nicest embroidery patterns! The also too crazy handcraft book "Gluckspilze" (lucky blewits) I got it as a birtday present from my work with lovely quiltfabrics, Tanja composed it in this shop.

Zo'n bonnetje heb ik nog nooit gehad hahah... was te klein om alles te noteren. En zo leuk, had een verrassingszakje van Nora en Mia gekregen met een hele lieve boodschap erop... (lieve zucht) Nu hoop ik dan voor de volgende keer dat ik nog wel thuis mag komen met zo'n bonnetje...hihi.

I never received such a receipt hahah ... was too small to write down everything what I've bought. And so lovely, I received a surprise bag of Nora and Mia with a very sweet message written on it... (little sigh) Now I hope for the next time that I may welcome at my home with such receive... hihi.

En hier de "meet & greet" met Coby, van haar deze ontzettende leuke warme attentie gekregen in herfstsferen...

En deze warme attentie ontving ik van Sietske per post, prachtige samplers waar ik iedere dag mee zit te spelen en ze had mijn post over Fryske Dumkes gelezen die stuurde ze ook mee... deze overheerlijk zak met koekjes overleefde 2 dagen! Jammie... zo HEERLIJK.

And from Sietske I received also this warm attentions by postmail, beautiful samplers and every day I play with those samplers and she send me also my favourite cookies Fryske Dumkes she read it in my earlier post, this bag with cookies survive for 2 days! Jammie...so DELICIOUS.

Natuurlijk even tussendoor naar Hans te Kloese geweest, ook weer zo'n TE leuke woondecoratie winkel in Bussum. Deze mooie berkenkrans met zakken gedroogd fruit zoals appelschijfjes, sinaasappel, peertjes heb ik daar gekocht om deze herfst/winter kransjes te maken zoals vorig jaar…

Ofcourse I went also for a shop at Hans to Kloese, this is also a very cute home decoration shop. I bought this beautiful birch wreath and bags filled with dried fruits such as apple slices, orange, pears to make these little autumn/winter wreath like last year...

Misschien zie ik je dan wel maar voor nu wens ik iedereen een fijne start van de week…

On September 12th, I went with such two very sweet and lovely lady's Tanja and Renske to the open day of the quilt shop "Stoffen & Stofferen in the town of Bussum. The idea was that I go for visit only in the "morning" but it turn out for one hole day and when I walked in the end of the day out of this quiltshop I carried 4 bags with me...shameless and unblushing ahum....hahaha! For me it was a really great day to look back on, a lot of laughter (the people who know me know that I always loud out laugh,… I fire some laughing salvo’s ) there were some very special meetings with people and TOO many funny things in the store in the spheres of autumn / winter. I had also a special meeting with Coby, she give me lovely comments by mail. And the most cutest reaction by mail was that she don’t want to buy decorating magazines anymore she followed blogs now.. hahaha. And I was approached by Sietske who recognized me from my blog, so crazy when people recognize me from my blog... hahaha. But oh so lovely, heartwarming and fun, Coby and Sietske always mail to me and I love that I had now a “meet & greet” with them! Watch with me... (click on the photo to enlarge)

"Preparations at home for the Autumn and Winter season…"

Voor de herfst en het winter seizoen wilde ik van gordijntjes veranderen en was al heel lang op zoek naar de juiste stof… voor een warme en gezellige uitstraling.
Totdat ik in Triëste / Italië deze geruite geweven stof zag in de stoffenwinkel was ik helemaal blij, dit is het geworden.

Was wel even wennen want ik ben de lichte gordijntjes gewend met “At Home” erop geborduurd, maar deze past ook helemaal in de landelijke country stijl.
Moest wel lachen om het commentaar van m’n moeder die dacht dat ze in een Italiaans restaurantje zat, nou ja… Uuuhh willen jullie ook een pizzapunt?

En wat ik ook heb afgemaakt is het breiwerkje met hoe kan het ook anders hartjes erin, weten jullie het nog van vorig jaar… zolang heeft het geduurd. Even speciaal berichtje voor Sietske, ze was zo benieuwd hoe dit was geworden.

Dit waren de foto's van vorig jaar...

Een lief en gezellig “patchwork” breikussentje van restjes wol is het geworden. Erom heen heb ik ruches gehaakt met als achterkant stof een theedoek gebruikt wat ik ooit bij Dille & Kamille hebt gekocht, helaas geen foto van gemaakt maar wel heel leuk met rode streepjes.

Het hartje op het gebreide kussentje is voor alle leuke reacties op mijn posten die ik heb mogen ontvangen op m’n blog en per mail, zo hartverwarmend! En nog leuker, ik ga nu weer heerlijk bij lezen op jullie blogs.

p.s., n.a.v. de vele vragen over het gehaakte patroon van de japanse hartjes zal ik proberen om er een post van te maken op mijn blog met uitleg foto's en patroon. Kan je niet wachten en zit je op het puntje van je stoel om ze te willen maken mail me dan zal ik je uitleggen hoe ik het geleerd hebt...

For the upcoming autumn and winter season I wanted to change of curtains and I search for a long time for the right fabric for a warm and cozy atmosphere. Until I was in Trieste / Italy that I saw this checkered fabric in the fabric store I was so happy then and this is what I made of it. Now I'm getting used to it because I was use of the light curtains with an embroidered text "At Home" on it, but it fits entirely in the rural country style which I love. Had to laugh at the comments of my mother who thought that she sit as well in an Italian restaurant... uuuhh do you want a slice of pizza?

And what I've also finished is this knitting work, with how could it be otherwise with hearts in it, maybe you remember it from a post on my blog from last year. This is also a special message for Sietske, she was so curious how it had become. A sweet and nice "patchwork" of leftover wool knitted cushion. I crocheted ruffles around with fabric from a towel used as back matter what I ever purchased by the store Dille & Kamille, unfortunately no pictures of it but I can tell you with very nice red stripes on it.
The heart on the knitted cushion is for all the nice comments on my posts that I receive on my blog or email, so heart warming! And even better, finally I can also read your wonderful blogs after a long time. I give you back a warm greeting from my heart, love Cin

p.s., I get many questions about the crochet pattern of the Japanese hearts I will try to make a post on my blog with pictures and explanation pattern.

"Last goodbye of Summer 2009…part two"

Na een prachtige rit over de Plöckenpass reden we richting Slovenië om nog een lieve dame en familie presentjes te brengen…
Weet je nog dat Jodie had paard gereden in Slovenië afgelopen meivakantie? Zie je het landschap op de foto, zo heeft ze daar gereden… vind je het niet prachtig!

Om deze lieve familie nog extra daarvoor te bedanken brachten we een lekkere Edammer kaas en Hollandse souvenirtjes mee.
Jodie kon niet wachten om het paard Jackie een knuffel te geven… aangekomen (zonder afspraak) kwam de lieve dame naar buiten met haar zus om te kijken wie bij het hek stond…
Toen ze zag wie we waren werden we enorm hartelijk onthaald, helemaal geweldig!
Heerlijk vertoefden we onder de druiven die boven het terras groeiden en voordat we vertrokken maakten we nog een ronde langs de paardenstallen.
Vorige keer viel het ons op dat er een sterk vermagerd paard stond maar nu weten we ook waarom. Marco (de zoon van de lieve dame) vangt mishandelde paarden op. Het paard wat we vorige keer zagen was zo mooi opgeknapt en aangesterkt, geweldig! Mevrouw liet ons een nieuw paard zien die door de vorige eigenaar erg mishandeld was. Hij had met de teugel of zweep flink op de neus geslagen van het paard en zag er ook zo vermagerd uit. Maar wij weten dat dit paardje gelukkig gered is, fantastisch dat er zulke mensen als deze ontzettende lieve familie bestaan!

We reden nog even terug naar Trieste - Italië om onze vriend Maurizio gedag te zeggen in zijn winkel voor autoverf materialen.

En voor dit mooie en lieve meisje heb ik een kraamkadootje gemaakt. Onze vriendin Christina (mijn Italiaanse kookjuf) was inmiddels bevallen van een meisje en ze heet Matilde.
Uiteraard op z’n hollands beschuit met roze muisjes meegenomen voor Michele (papa), Christina (mama) en broertje Francesco. Ze vonden het wel lekker maar heel apart… hihihi!
Wat een heerlijk weerzien was het weer en we missen ze al weer heel erg… Dat is altijd zo moeilijk als je er bent weer het afscheid nemen van elkaar.

Op naar het strand van Kroatië…
In de middag zijn we gearriveerd op het vakantie park Lanterna vlakbij het plaatsje Porec.
Dit vakantie park is opgedeeld door een complex van appartementen, luxe hotel en camping.
Ik ben wel zo’n luxe kip en hebben we een appartement geboekt, heel keurig was het!
En wat deden we daar…, lekker relax aan het strand en snorkelen. Voor 5 jaar geleden waren we hier ook op vakantie geweest en Jodie was altijd zo druk aan het snorkelen op zoek naar deze heremietkreeftjes…en nu weer.
En wij keken heerlijk de gehele dag over zee naar mooie boten die voorbij kwamen gevaren… en dronken heerlijk Ice Coffee!

Het is ongeveer een uurtje rijden van Porec naar Trieste en zo besloten we om met een bewolkte dag een dagje te shoppen in Trieste, JOEPIE!
Na weer heerlijk een dag in de stad rond te hebben gelopen valt de avond in de haven van Trieste… prachtig!
En om een lantaarnpaal zie je dit, allemaal hangsloten met daarop twee namen van verliefde stellen.
“In de eeuwigheid verbonden”, hoop maar niet dat ze de sleutels van de hangsloten opduiken in de zee.
Maar wat is dit mooi om zo de liefde voor elkander te symboliseren!

En nu komen we eindelijk aan bij het handwerkgedeelte…
Henri heeft voordat we gingen zelfs een mooi handwerk koffer(tje) voor me gekocht, kan er niets aan doen maar deze had ik ook met teveel spulletjes gevuld hihihi… heb niet echt stil “gelegen”!
Jawel hoor, heel veel geslapen en als ik dan wakker was dan graaide ik weer in mijn handwerktas voor het strand om deze hartjes te haken, amigurumi japans haken.
Ik was op slag verliefd toen ik ze op een blog zag en wilde het ook graag leren.
Eindelijk had ik het na een dag onder de knie en was niet meer te stoppen…
En dit heb ik daar gehaakt heerlijk aan het strand…
Was nog met een stitcherie bezig maar niet afgemaakt, bewaar het maar voor volgend jaar zomer. En… er gingen nog 28 bollen wol mee, was te enthousiast bleek later hahahah. (herkent iemand dit of ben ik de enige?)
Om een Granny square blanket te haken… dit gaan jullie in een later bericht zien, ok?

En dan sluit ik nu echt de zomer af met deze zonsondergang…
Dag mooie zomer 2009, dank voor alle prachtige stralende dagen!

Een warme laatste zomer zonnestraal voor iedereen, liefs van Cindy!

After a wonderful journey over the Plöckenpass we drove towards Slovenia to meet a sweet lady and to bring this family some presents... Do you remember that Jodie had ridden on a horse in Slovenia last May holiday? Do you see the landscape in the picture, so she drove there... isn’t it wonderful! For that, we want to extra thank this sweet family and we gave a Edam cheese and typical Dutch souvenirs.Jodie could not wait to arrived for to give a hug to horse Jackie... when we finally arrived(without appointment), the sweet lady came out of the house with her sister to see who enter the gate ... When she saw who we were, we were extremely warmly welcomed, totally awesome! We sat very nice in the terrace where above the grapes grew and before we left this place we made a tour of the stables. Last time we noticed that one horse was emaciated but now we know why. Marco (son of the dear lady) take care/in about abused horses. The horse we saw last time was so beautifully refurbished and were strengthened, so great! Ms showed us a new horse who was by the previous owner very abused. He whip with the reins on the nose of the horse so badly and the horse looked also thin. But we know now that this horse is luckily saved, so great that there are such wonderful people like this family!

We were on our way to go back to Trieste - Italy, a visit for our friend Maurizio to say hello in his shop for car paint materials. And for this beautiful little girl I made a maternity gift. Our friend Christina (my Italian cooking teacher) had already given birth to a girl and her name is Matilde. We’ve taken typical Dutch maternity food for Michele (dad), Christina (mother) and brother Francesco. They thought it was very nice but also strange tasting... hihihi! What a wonderful reunion it was again and again we miss them very much ... It's always difficult when you're back to say goodbye for a long time to each other.

Up to the beach of Croatia ... In the afternoon we arrived at the holiday park Lanterna near the town of Porec. This holiday park is divided by a complex of apartments, luxury hotel and camping. I'm really a luxury “chicken” and have booked a apartment booked, it was very neat!
And what did we do there on the park..., nice relaxing on the beach and go for a swim and snorkel. For 5 years ago we were here on vacation and Jodie was always so busy to search with her snorkel under water for hermit crabs... and this vacation again. We also looked all day to the sea and also to see beautiful boats... and drink Ice Coffee.

It is about an hour drive from Porec to Trieste and so we decided to do on a cloudy day to shop in Trieste, YES! After another lovely day walk in the city the evening falls in the port of Trieste... wonderful! And to a lamppost you see this, all padlocks with two names written of loving couples.
“In eternity connected ", but I hope not that someone find the key with diving in the sea. But how lovely to symbolize the love for each other!

And now we come finally to the handcrafting section ... Before we take preparations for our holiday Henri bought me
a beautiful (little) suitecase, can not help it but I had too much stuff for handcrafting filled in it hihihi... don’t want to be that lazy! Oh yes you’re right, got very much sleep and when I awoke I grab in my handcrafting beach bag to crochet those hearts, it is Japanese crochet who named Amigurumi. I was in love when I saw them on a blog and wanted to learn crochet it. Finally after one day I had mastered and was unstoppable ... And this, I lovely crocheted it at the beach... Was still busy with a stitcherie but could not finished it, I save it for next summer. And... I also bring 28 balls of wool with me, I became to enthusiastic hahahah. (anyone recognize this or am I the only one?) I want to crochet a Granny square blanket of it... but for that you can see it in a later post, ok? And here I finally say goodbye to the summer with this sunset... Goodbye beautiful summer of 2009, thanks for all your beautiful and gleaming days!

Eindelijk kan ik weer schrijven op m’n blog… Had een week lang geen pc meer aangezet want ik had een paar dagen vrij genomen met deze herfstvakantie.
Wilde afgelopen weken dolgraag mijn lijstje afmaken met dingen wat ik wilde afronden en dat was echt heel veel. Soms moet dat gewoon…
Zo heb ik vandaag een hele dag foto collages gemaakt en kwam ik deze nog tegen van onze afgelopen vakantie in augustus.
Een laatste groet voor de prachtige zomer die we hebben gehad. Jullie zitten lekker al in herfstsferen, ik ook. Maar bij het schikken van de foto’s wil ik er nog een paar laten zien, even namijmeren…
Al heel lang wil ik dit hotel waar we hebben overnacht op de heenreis, zo prachtig en ontzettend leuk!
Onze reisbestemming was Kroatië, plaatsje Porec. We hadden geboekt voor het vakantiepark Lanterna en het was 5 jaar geleden dat we in dit plaatsje zijn geweest.
Mijn man Henri wilde graag een andere route nemen en wilde de Plöckenpass nemen om Italië dan binnen te rijden…
Op zoek naar een lekkere slaapplaats voordat we de pass namen kwamen we terecht bij dit hotel Sissy Sonnleitner.
Vriendelijk werden we ontvangen door een dame (later kwam ik erachter dat zij tevens eigenaresse is met haar moeder samen) en er was nog plaats…
M’n mond viel al open toen ze ons voorging naar de hotelkamer…
Eén en al handgewerkte dingen kwam ik tegen, tja als je zelf zo bezig bent dan vallen deze dingen meteen op! Kijk maar…


Nog mooier was onze hotelkamer op iedere deur zag ik zo’n zelfgemaakt country beertje met een handgeschilderd bordje met Welkom erop, zo leuk!
Ik denk dat ik nu maar even stil ben want dat werd ik ook toen we de kamer betreden…ooohhhh!

Nou hier konden we zeker uitrusten na een rit van 11 uur, Henri ging meteen even bijslapen want we vertrokken ’s nachts om 1 uur.
Jodie en ik wilden nog wel een drankje doen en met m’n handwerktas liepen we naar beneden… en Stefanie (de dame die ons zo vriendelijk ontving) zei dat we wel in het hofje konden zitten. En hier hebben we gezeten aan een heerlijke glas cola met … een chocolade koek uit eigen keuken (zucht) zo lekker!

Voordat we gingen was ik “verslaafd” aan hartjes haken, dus ging ik hiermee lekker verder in dit geweldige hofje…

Na een nacht heerlijk geslapen te hebben komen we aan bij het ontbijt. Ook hier vertel ik er maar niets meer bij, je ziet het aan de foto’s…

Was ik er nog maar en het liefst wilde ik er nog een paar dagen vertoeven.
Als dat nog niet alles was had ik de dag ervoor een bordje gezien in een haag met erop geschreven: Zum Cottagegarten…
Alsof het zo moet zijn en ik maakte na het ontbijtje nog een rondje in de tuin en wat daarachter was… weer zo’n heerlijke verrassing!

En toen viel het puzzelstukje, in dit hotel kan je ook kookworkshops volgen en alles komt uit eigen tuin. Verser kan het niet, wat heerlijk! De keuken is voor een gedeelte open en aan de wand hangen heerlijke recepten, volgens mij van de gasten die er zijn geweest.
Ook de omgeving rond dit hotel is zo leuk en vooral prachtig. Stefanie vertelde ons dat er in de omgeving ook kruiden te vinden zijn en raad eens wat ze heeft ook een blog en de naam van haar blog is wasserwald. Zoveel leuks daar zoals een mooi ski- en wandelgebied, spa en … teveel om op te noemen.

Today we put back one hour on the clock for Winter time. Finally I can write again on my blog ... I had taken a few days off from work for this autumn holiday. I wanted to finish my list of things to do that I wanted to complete and that list was so much. So today I spent the whole day for making photo collages, also these photo’s from our recent vacation in August. A final salute to the wonderful summer we have had.
Everybody is all setting in Autumn spheres, also I do. But arranging the pictures, I wanted it so much to show a few of them… For a long time I want to write about this hotel where we stayed on the outward journey, so beautiful and incredibly fun! Our destination was Croatia, town of Porec. We had booked for an apartment on a holiday park which named Lanterna and it was 5 years ago we have been in this town. My husband Henri wanted to take a different route, he would like to drive over the Plöckenpass and cross there the border of Italy. Before we took the pass we search for a place to stay and where we can sleep, so we found this hotel Sissy Sonnleitner. We were kindly received by one lady (later I read that she is also co-owner with her mother) and there was still a room for us to stay the night over. My mouth falls open when we were on our way to our hotel room.I saw in the halls only handcrafted things, well when you are self so creative with handcrafting you noticed these things immediately! Look...

Even better was our hotel room on any door I saw some homemade country bear with a hand painted sign with Welcome on it, so nice! Now I want to stay quit with writing because I become also quit when we enter the room… OOOOHHHHH!
Well here we could certainly relax after a ride of 11 hours, Henri want to sleep immediately because we left at one o’clock in the night. Jodie and I still wanted a drink and so we walked downstairs with my handcrafting bag under my arm... and Stefanie (the lady who received us kindly) said that we can sit in the courtyard. And here we sat with a delicious glass of Coca Cola with a homemade cooking chocolate cake(sigh)… so delicious! Before we went on our journey I was "addicted" to crochet hearts, so I was enjoying so much to crochet those hearts in this in the beautiful courtyard of the hotel...
After a good night's sleep we go to the breakfast room.
Again I tell you nothing, you can see it in the pictures ...
Oooh I wish that I was still there and to spend a few more days.I read a sign the day before in a hedge of the courtyard with the following text written on it: “To the Cottage Garden…” As if it should be so and after breakfast I made another round in the garden and what was behind it... just another wonderful surprise!

Then I now what this hotel can offer you. Follow cooking workshops and for the ingredients they pick it fresh from the garden, what a joy! The kitchen is open for a small part and of the wall there were hanging delicious recipes, I think of the guests who have been there. The area around this hotel is also great for to do things and especially beautiful. Stefanie told us that you can find herbs in the area of the dolomites mountains and guess what she also had a blog wich named wasserwald .
It is also a ski- and hiking area, much spa/wellness and… too many to mention.

"4 October 2009, Day for the animals"

Vandaag is het wereld dierendag, een goed moment om over onze gevonden katje Siepie te schrijven.
Siepie is 2 weken geleden door mijn dochter gevonden langs een drukke weg in de berm.
“Mam heb een kitten gevonden mag ik ‘m meenemen naar huis, ze is zo tam en heel lief” belde ze me.
Maar ik verstond kip hihi.., dus ik vroeg “pikt ze je niet dan” en al denkend dacht ik o jee, kan ik de schuur verbouwen etc. etc.
Waarop ze zei “Mam een kat kan toch niet pikken, mag ik haar alsjeblieft meenemen is zo zielig”. Ze had eerst bij een huis aangebeld maar mevrouw wist niet van wie dit katje was. Bij een vriendinnetje had ze een doos opgehaald en zo op de fiets nam ze haar mee.
Inmiddels waren Henri en ik thuis gekomen van ons werk en waren samen al druk om het eten voor te bereiden en daar kwam ze thuis.
“Aaaaahhh” riepen we het uit, “Wat een schatje”! Jodie glunderde al helemaal.
“Mag ik haar alsjeblieft houden Mam?”…
Maar ik moest daar echt 10x over nadenken, opvangen is geen probleem maar na de dood van Rosso (zie bericht) heb ik daar zoveel moeite mee. Had er zoveel verdriet van en ik heb nog een hele lieve oude “oma” kat van 17 jaar oud, doof en tandloos en weet niet of zij haar wel zal accepteren.

Voordat ze al wandelend door ons huis liep zei ik tegen Jodie dat ik haar eerst wilde nakijken op vlooitjes en andere ongediertes…
Op het moment dat ik haar vacht opzij schoof zag ik het al krioelen van de vlooitjes, bah!
M’n man en ik begonnen meteen te kammen maar was onbegonnen werk, inmiddels hing ik al aan de telefoon met de dierenbescherming want ik kan haar niet houden met al die springende beestjes op haar lijfje.
Evelien van de dierenbescherming vertelde me dat ze pas ’s avonds word opgehaald en ik vond dat zo vreselijk omdat ik haar dan buiten moest houden.
Het was 10 minuten voor 6 en Jodie sprong op haar fiets om kattenshampoo te kopen bij de dierenwinkel terug gekomen hebben we haar 2x gewassen en gauw een pipet toegediend om de vlooitjes te doden.
En al lekker drogend zat ze heerlijk te dutten, ik kon het niet over m’n hart krijgen om haar te laten ophalen.

Dus had ik weer gebeld om dit schattige beestje op te vangen voor 2 weken of totdat de rechtmatige eigenaar zich meld. Maar na 2 weken mochten wij haar eventueel houden als onze oude kat haar ook accepteer vertelde Evelien.
’s Avonds zagen we dat de pipet zijn werk al had gedaan we konden de vlooitjes er zo af halen, wel meer dan 80 hebben we geteld! Vreselijk wat moet dit beestje een jeuk hebben gehad. Ze nieste ook heel erg. Dus ik besloot om met haar naar de dierenarts te gaan.
“Och mevrouw, u hebt ook altijd wat bijzonders…” zei hij tegen mij, ik fronste mijn wenkbrauwen. “Tja”, zei ik “kan dit beestje toch niet naar het asiel brengen”.
Maar hij bedoelde het niet zo en zei zoiets vriendelijks tegen me, “nee, u hebt gewoon zo’n goed en mooi hart voor dieren” en werd er helemaal verlegen van. Hij kende me al hahah… ik en beestjes is soms TE, als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel. Als ik een merel of een egeltje of duif kan redden dan breng ik ze altijd weg naar de dierenbescherming of dierenarts.
“Ik hoop echt voor u dat er niemand komt voor dit beestje, ze zal het zo goed krijgen bij u” zei de dierenarts en assistente zo lief tegen mij.

Inmiddels is ze nu al 2 weken en mag ze dus officieel bij ons blijven en ze is helemaal opgeknapt, we hebben haar Siepie genoemd. Wij allemaal zijn dolblij met ons nieuw gezinslid en ook Donna als ze in een goede bui is.

Ben ook zo blij dat er een dierenbescherming is en mensen zoals Evelien die als vrijwilliger werken. Kan er zo moeilijk tegen hoe mensen op de wereld soms zo vreselijk en wreed omgaan met dieren, word er zo boos om en verdrietig. Ik kan en wil dat vooral niet begrijpen en vraag altijd af waarom?
Dus als ik een beestje kan redden van de dood of van de pijn dan probeer ik mijn uiterste best er voor te doen. Soms lachen mensen me uit als ik de auto aan de kant zet om een koppeltje eenden of andere beestjes van de rijbaan af te halen. Dan denk ik toe maar hoor lach maar.
Ik weet dat ze dan weer gered zijn en dat ze weer lekker de vrije natuur in kunnen… en dat stelt me dan weer gerust in mijn hart.
Hoop dat niet alleen met deze dag maar iedere dag dat er veel mensen zijn om hulpeloze, mishandelde, vergeten dieren te redden, zodat zij ook net zo vrij mogen leven als ons.

Al is het er maar één…, heb liefde voor dieren en voor elkaar!

Ons buurvrouwtje "Poes" heeft bij ons in de tuin ook een heel leuk onderkomen gevonden...hihi

Today is World Animal Day, a good moment to write about the cat Siepie. My daughter found Siepie 2 weeks ago along a busy road. "Mom,I have found a kitten can I bring it home, she is so tame and very sweet", she called me. But I understand chicken .. hihi, so I asked "did the chicken not pick you” and I'm already thinking whoops, can I rebuild the barn etc. etc. Where upon she said "Mom it is a cat and can not pick, may I please take her she is so piteous. She had first rung at a house but the Mrs. did not know from who this kitten was.
From a friend she had collected a box for this little cat, put it on the backside of her bike and so she took her home. Meanwhile, Henri and I returned from our work together and were already busy to prepare the dinner and then Jodie came home. "Aaaahhh" we cried out, "What a sweetheart"! Jodie was already smiling. "Can I please keep her Mom?" ... But I had to think about it really for 10 times, for take in is no problem but after the death of Rosso (see post) I still have so much grieve. And I have a very sweet old granny "cat of 17 years old, deaf and toothless and does not know whether she will accept her.

Before this little cat walk through our house I said to Jodie that I wanted to check on her first from fleas and other vermin... At the moment I pushed aside her coat I saw all the swarm of fleas, yek! My husband and I immediately began to comb it was hopeless, in the meanwhile I hang on the phone with the serve of animal protection because I can not take this little cat in our house with all those creatures jumping on her body. Evelien of the animal protection she told me that they will come in the evening to pick her up and I felt so terrible that I had to keep this little cat outside of our house. It was 10 minutes for 6 o’clock, Jodie jumped on her bike to buy shampoo for cats in the pet store. When she came back we washed her 2 times and quickly I gave her a pipette for to terminate all the fleas. When she get dry she want to take a nap, I could not get over my heart to let her pick her up by the serve of the animal protection. So I called again for this cute creature to take her in for 2 weeks or until the rightful owner showed up. But Evelien told me after 2 weeks we could possibly keep her if our old cat also accept her. At night we saw that the pipette had done his work so we could pick all the fleas off her coat, we have count more than 80 of those fleas! Terrible as this creature must have had an itch. She also sneezed a lot. So I decided to take her to the vet. "Oh Madam, you have always something special ..." he said to me, I frowned my eyebrows. "Well," I said "this creature I can not bring her to the animal shelters". But he meant it friendly and said to me, 'No, you just have a good heart for animals "and I was totally getting embarrassed. He knew me though ... hahah I have a lot with animals sometimes too much, if you know what I mean. If I can rescue a a blackbird or a hedgehog or pigeon, I bring it always to the vet or the serve of animal protection. "I really hope for you that nobody comes to take this lovely creature, she is so well at your" said the veterinarian and assistant so sweet to me.

Now she is already 2 weeks at our home and formally with us and she has been fully recover, we have called her Siepie. We are all thrilled with our new family member and also Donna when she is in a good mood.

I'm so glad that there is an serve for animal protection and people like Evelien as volunteer for this work.
I can not deal with people in the world who treat the animals so terribly cruel and hard, I get very angry and have grieve about it.
I can not understand and don’t want it fur understanding and I ask always why? So if I can save a creature of the death or the pain I try my best to rescue it. Sometimes people laugh at me when I turn the car on the side for a couple of ducks or other creatures to pick them of the road. Then I think yes laugh about me but I know they are saved again and that they can enjoy in the free nature... and then I shall feel calmness in my heart. Hope that not only this day but every day that there are many people help to rescue those helpless, abused and forgotten animals, so they may live as free as us.

If it is only just one..., have love for animals and for each other!

"My favourite cookies, Fryske Dúmkes…"

Het is wel heel erg met me gesteld en daar bedoel ik mee dat m’n vorige bericht eigenlijk achterhaald is. Was helemaal in de veronderstelling dat we nog in het weekend van 20 september zaten, loop gewoon een week achter vreselijk toch hahahah…
Afgelopen maandag reed ik dus langs de kwekerij en zag dat ze het land al aan het bewerken waren en dat alle pompoenen en kalebassen weg waren en toen dacht ik hé, hoe kan dat nou a.s. zaterdag kon je deze toch zo van het land afhalen?

Tja en toen zag ik dus op de kalender dat het al geweest was, heb meteen Frank de “jonge zakenman” gebeld en hij vertelde zo leuk dat je het maar voor volgend jaar moest onthouden.
Bij deze volgend jaar rond augustus en september hebben ze deze mooie vruchten weer op de kar liggen, excuus.

En zo liggen ze bij mij op de tuintafel buiten…

Als klein meisje gingen we opa bezoeken en voor oma een bloemetje brengen op de begraafplaats in Drachten, in dit dorp/stad heeft mijn moeder vroeger gewoond.
Heb er hele leuke herinneringen aan, onderweg maakten we altijd een pitstop in het plaatsje Staphorst en bij de afslag van de snelweg zat daar destijds een bakker en konden wij heerlijke warme thee drinken met een lekker vers broodje en dan rook je die heerlijk bakgeuren mmmm…. En voor onderweg kregen mijn zusje en ik altijd een broodje mee van deze bakkerij, helaas bestaat deze bakkerij niet meer.
Bij de banketbakker in Drachten kocht mijn moeder altijd een paar zakjes koekjes en deze heten Fryske Dumkes vertaald Friese Duimpjes en sindsdien behoren deze tot mijn favorieten, zo HEERLIJK!
Deze heb ik per post mogen ontvangen van Stefan en Marchje Veldman, relatie van mijn werk en tja toen Stefan vertelde dat ze in Friesland woonden toen moest ik natuurlijk over mijn favoriete koekjes beginnen… hahaha! Zal ze per post versturen zei Stefan, ik dacht hij maakt een grapje en wat heb toch een heerlijke verrassing mogen ontvangen van de postbode.
Ik heb m’n vingers erbij opgegeten en dit zakje koekjes haalde maar 1 dag, ahum heb er van genoten zo heerlijk!

It is so terrible with me, my previous post is really outdated. Was all assuming that we live the weekend of September 20th, just over one week back...hahahah So last Monday I drove past the farm and saw the land that they already were working on and that all the pumpkins and gourds were gone and I thought hey, how can that happen because Saturday you can pick the fruit of the country? Yeah and then I saw on the calendar that it already has been, I called Frank the “young businessman” immediately and so cute he told me that you must it remember for the next year. So next year around August and September they have these beautiful fruits on the cart again, I’m very sorry. And so lie the pumpkins and gourds at my garden table outside ...

As a little girl we went to visit grandpa and for grandma we put a flower in the cemetery in the town of Drachten, my mother used to live here. Have some great memories there because we made a pit stop in the town Staphorst and when you drove of the highway, there was a bakery and were we could drink delicious hot tea with a nice fresh bread and delicious baking smells mmmm ....
And when we go further with the trip to the town of Drachten my sister and I got always from this bakery a little sandwich, this bakery has sadly gone. In Drachten in the local bakery my mom always bought a few bags of biscuits called Fryske Dumkes translated Frisian Thumb since then they are amongst my favourites, so DELICIOUS! This biscuits I may receive by mail from Marchje and Stefan Veldman, relationship of my work and when Stefan said that they lived in Friesland I just must spoke about my favourite cookies ofcourse... hahaha! Stefan said to mo I will send them by mail, I thought it was joke but what a wonderful surprise I receive from the postman. This bag of cookies could stand for only 1 day, ahum… I enjoyed to eating those and it was so delicious!

"Picking Pumpkins..."

Afgelopen 2 weken was ik druk bezig met de voorbereiding voor het herfst seizoen in en rondom ons huis.
Dit weekend heb ik ondanks het prachtige weer de zomer uit huis gezwaaid en is ons huis inmiddels in herfst sferen gehuld…
Onderweg naar m’n werk zie ik altijd een mooie kar langs de weg staan, vol met mooie pompoenen en kalebassen.
Vorig jaar had ik hier ook al een paar hele mooi pompoenen en kalebassen meegenomen en je betaling kan je deponeren in een busje, waar maak je dat nog mee deze tijd.
Op weg naar huis was ik weer gestopt om m’n tas te vullen met deze mooie vruchten om kadootjes te maken voor de open dag bij Stoffen en Stofferen te Bussum. (hierover zal ik over deze ontzettende gezellige dag meer vertellen)

En er kwam een leuke jongeman op me afgelopen en begroette me heel vriendelijk. Hij vroeg of hij me kon helpen met uitzoeken en ik zei tegen hem wat een goede en zeer charmante zakenman hij was!
Hij vertelde me ook dat ik op zaterdag 26 september a.s. de pompoenen en kalebassen zelf van het land mocht knippen, erg leuk! Maar je moet dan wel een snoeischaartje meenemen en dan ben je van harte welkom van 10:00 – 16:00uur.

Maar ik kan niet zolang wachten want ik had de mooie vruchten eerder nodig voor decoratie in ons huis. Dus ik beloofde hem om over 2 weken terug te komen om mooie foto’s te maken en de uitnodiging aan iedereen door te geven.
Dus als je ook wilt decoreren met deze vruchten of een lekker recept te maken dan kun je zelf een mooie pompoen of kalebas zo van het land afknippen.
Deze jonge charmante “zakenman” Frank zal je dan verwelkomen en zijn hulp aanbieden net als z’n trotse vader en broertje.

Mocht je er zijn kijk dan even naar die prachtige geknipte buxussen in allerlei leuke vormen waar al 10 jaar knipwerk in zit, echt heel mooi.

Hoop dat ik nu wat meer tijd over heb om te bloggen nu ik alles al heerlijk in het mooie herfstseizoen heb gedecoreerd.
Heb er helemaal zin in, vandaag alweer de eerste stoofpeertjes gegeten, van de goudreinetten lekker appelmoes met een vleugje kaneel gemaakt en nu lekker een kopje herfst thee met een lekker stukje speculaas, mmmm…..

Alvast een gezellige start van de week en geniet van de mooie herfstkleuren.

Dit schattige kalebasje met een zelfgemaakt vogeltje kreeg ik van een hele lieve vrouw Coby uit Den Haag die ik voor het eerst heb ontmoet op de open dag, zo lief!

Last 2 weeks I was busy preparing for the fall season in and around our house. This weekend I waved the beautiful summer in our home goodbye and now is our house wrapped in autumn spheres... En route to my work I always see a nice cart along the road with full of beautiful pumpkins and gourds. Last year I also buy here some really nice pumpkins and gourds and you can pay your deposit in a van, where do you have them at this time.
On the way home I stopped again to fill my bag with these beautiful fruits to make presents for the open day at the Quiltstore “Stoffen and Stofferen”in Bussum. (about this very pleasant day I will tell your more later on) And there was a nice young man greeted me and past me very kindly. He asked if he could help me sorting out and I told him what a good and very charming businessman he was! He told me that on Saturday, September 26th I can cut the pumpkins and gourds by myself of the country, so nice! But you must bring your own pruning scissors and then you are very welcome from 10:00 - 16:00 hours.

But I can not wait so long because I needed this gorgeous fruit earlier for to decorate in our house.
So I promised him that I will return in about 2 weeks to make some beautiful pictures and to pass the invitation to everyone.So if you want to decorate your house or make a delicious recipe with those fruits you can cut of by yourself a nice pumpkin or gourd on the country. This young charming "businessman" Frank will welcome you and offer his help so as his proud father and brother. This little cat is Siepie, my daughter has found her last Thursday in a roadside. Will tell you more about her later ... Hope I have some more time to blog now everything is ready for to decorate in the beautiful spheres of autumn season. I enjoy this season so much, today we eaten the first stewed pears and make of the apple “goldreneit” some applesauce with cinnamon and now I make for myself a nice cup of “autumn” tea with a biscuit which name is “speculaas”, mmmm ...

“It grows in a wreath…”

Met een grote schoof tarwe of gerst (weet het nog steeds niet ahum) onder m’n arm en tasjes vol met aankopen verlieten de Farm & Country in Aalten.
Mijn man Henri zag de bui al hangen natuurlijk en zei dit past nooit in de auto, hij bedoelde waarschijnlijk de troep die met zich meegaf aan vallende korreltjes en losse stro…
Natuurlijk wel zei ik! Al moest mijn dochter bij mij op schoot voor in de auto hahaha.
Mee gaat die schoof, was zo blij dat ik het van die meneer mee mocht nemen.
Had er namelijk al zo lang naar gezocht om er een mooie zomerkrans van te maken en kleine schoofjes neer te zetten. Dit was begin jaren ’90 zo’n "home" trend, toen al vond ik het zo leuk en gezellig country staan.

Zo, ik heb even uitgestald wat ik had gekocht en meegenomen op de fair…
Leuke sampler, een mooie mangeldoek, etagere (die zet ik later op de foto in het herfstseizoen) en leuke quiltkussens.
Genieten, maar ook meteen aan het werk.

Deze krans is het geworden en hangt op een leuk plekje in huis en wat overgebleven was de wildkroon die in onze keuken hangt ermee versiert, heerlijk zomers doet het aan.

Over 2 weken verdwijnt alles weer en wordt er plaatsgemaakt voor herfsttakken, paddestoelen, appels, rode bessen en nog veel meer. Ik decoreer mijn huis met de seizoenen mee, heerlijk om te doen.
Heb er al zin in, lekkere geur van de gebakken appeltaart, de lampionnetjes weer laten branden etc.

Nu eerst nog wat voorbereiding! Ben op het moment eikeltjes van stof aan het maken, is even een eigen probeerseltje. Hoop dat het lukt met het patroontje wat ik zelf heb getekend.
Daarna de foto’s van de vakantie schikken dan laat ik jullie de mooie zonsondergang in Kroatië zien, (zucht) nog even namijmeren…

With a large sheaf of wheat or barley (still not know yet ahem) under my arm and bags full of purchases we left the Farm & Country in Aalten. My husband Henri saw it coming and said that the sheaf obviously not fit in the car, he probably referred to the mob with loose straw and falling grains ... Of course it fit, I said! I almost would to take my daughter on my lap in the front seat of the car hahaha… It must fit, I was so glad that the friendly gentleman allowed me to take the large sheaf.
Because I search a long time for to find this, I want to make a beautiful summer wreath of it and little sheaf. This was early 90s a home trend, even then I found it so fun and cozy country decorating.
So, I've just displayed what I had bought and taken from the fair ... Nice sampler, a beautiful mangle cloth, etagere (which I would later take a picture in the fall season) and fun quilt pillows. I enjoy, but I must also work immediately. The wreath is hanging on a nice place in our house and the hanging crown in the kitchen are also decorated. It gives the feeling of summer. But in about 2 weeks everything disappears and want replaced by autumn twigs, blewits, apples, red berries and much more. I decorate my house with the seasons, so wonderful to do. Have already the feeling to change in the Autumn season, the smell of baked apple pie, the lantern burning nicely again etc. But first some preparation to do! At the moment I handcraft Acorns made from fabric, I’m trying it out. Hope it works with the pattern I've drawn by myself. After that I arranged the pictures of the holiday, I will let you show the beautiful sunset in Croatia see,(sigh)after musing…

Farm & Country Fair Aalten 2009

Ik ga even terug in de tijd naar zondag 28 juni 2009.
Op deze dag hadden wij de Farm & Country Fair te Aalten bezocht. Heb al enkele fairs bezocht zoals in Zeist en in Doorn en over de fair in Aalten had ik al veel goede berichten gehoord en gelezen. Als ik erover las dacht ik even een dag vrij houden om deze fair te bezoeken maar het kwam er maar steeds niet van. En eindelijk was het zover, al vroeg vertrokken en met de bestelde internet kaarten in de handen stonden wij bij de ingang…

Op 25 voetbalvelden groot werd deze fair gehouden dus we hadden nog wat voor de boeg.
Maar ooohhh wat hebben we die dag genoten van alle stands, bezienswaardigheden en ook de shows en demonstraties.
We vonden dit zo’n leuke en mooie fair en er heerste zo’n heerlijke gemoedelijke sfeer.
Dit bericht zal wel gehuld worden in vele foto’s maar het is ook zo leuk, even een impressie laten zien… (klik op de foto's om te vergroten)

The circle of life...

I’m going back in time for Sunday, June 28, 2009. On this day we had visited the Farm & Country Fair in the town of Aalten. Have already visited several Country fairs like in the town of Zeist and Doorn. I heard and read good reviews about this fair in Aalten. When I just read about the good reviews I thought to keep a day off to visit this fair but it never happened.
And finally happened, we left early and with the ordered internet cards in the hands we were at the entrance ...

The field of this Farm & Country fair was 25 football fields great so we had some walk to do. But Ooohhh, we have enjoyed all the stands that day, the sights, shows and demonstrations. We found it such fun and so beautiful on the fair and there was such a wonderful friendly atmosphere. This message will be wrapped in many photos but it is so fun, it is just an impression I will show ... (click on the photo's to enlarge)

Love those baskets with bread... idea for the Autumn Season!

Dit was ook zo’n mooie stand, oude en antiek linnengoed! Door deze lieve mensen ben ik zo goed toegelicht en ik heb zo’n mooi oude mangeldoek van 1930 uit Duitsland bij ze gekocht.

This stand was so beautiful, old and antique linens! I am so well explained to these dear people and I have bought a beautiful old mangle cloth from the year 1930 from Germany.

Ben verliefd op deze leuke vogelhuisjes, deze worden gemaakt door de heer H.J. Kämink.
Tot in detail, van tafel en stoeltjes, boompjes en alles wordt van hout gemaakt en gerecycled van oud ijzer. Sommige daken zijn zelfs van oude aanhangwagens.
Let op de foto linksboven, zelfs het toiletje wordt niet vergeten...hahaha!
I love this great bird houses, they are made by Mr. HJ Kämink. In detail, table and chairs, trees and everything is from old wood and recycled iron. Some are even roofs of old trailers.
Note the top left picture, even the toilet is not forgotten...hahaha!

Lovely animals

We liepen langs een tafel en een dame kwam met een plateau aan met iets wolligs erop.
Nu waren we net langs de stand met wol spinnen geweest en ik dacht wat wordt daar nou gepresenteerd… luid uit heb ik gelachen het was een cavia die gebracht werd voor een keuring!

We past a table and a lady came with a tray with something fuzzy on it. Now we were just past the stand with wool spinning and I thought what was there presented ... I laughed out loud it was a guinea pig that was brought for an inspection!


Deze fair is geweldig voor paardenliefhebbers, fantastische demonstraties!

Ook voor antieke auto liefhebbers, wat vind je van mijn nieuwe peugeot? Je moet even weten dat ik nu een zwarte peugeot 206 rijd... en deze is toch helemaal geweldig!

Leuke demonstratie graandorsen! En van de meneer op de linkerfoto onder mocht ik zo’n grote schoof meenemen. Ik ben al tijden op zoek naar graan of tarwe om … dat lees je in m’n volgend bericht!

Another year older and celebrating our 17th Weddingday…

Vrijdag 28 augustus was het 17 jaar geleden dat we het ja-woord aan elkaar hebben gegeven.
Elk jaar een witte roos voor ons huwelijksdag vertelde hij me toen.
Begon met rode rozen voor mijn verjaardag met in het boeket een witte roos.
En nu had hij me verrast met een heel mooi boeket met 17 witte rozen!
Afgelopen vakantie zaten we te eten in een leuk restaurant in een haventje met live muziek en hoe toepasselijk de bandleden zongen het nummer van John Denver met “Take me home, country roads…” Op dit nummer dansten onze openingsdans, ja en ook in de vakantie hebben we natuurlijk weer even gedanst als vanouds!

Voor mijn lief:
Ik hoop dat het volgend jaar 18 mooi witte rozen mogen worden Henri en dat deze weer met zoveel liefde word gegeven!

Dit lieve harten kadootje gekregen van onze dochter, lief hé.

Stilletjes heb ik mijn “1-jarig” weblog bestaan voorbij laten gaan…
Even teruglezend in 2008 startte ik ermee op 14 juli, niet wetende wat een wending dit voor mij heeft gemaakt.
Vanaf maart dit jaar heb ik een meter voor mijn weblog en kan niet geloven dat ik vanaf die tijd al bijna 15.000 bezoekers heb geteld, onvoorstelbaar.
Probeer zo goed als ik kan ook in het engels te vertalen. Excuses als het niet goed geschreven staat.
Kan over mijn weblog wel honderduit over praten wellicht voor sommige tot vermoeiens toe hahahaha… Ik word zo blij van al die reacties, post en email, echt heel lief en leuk.
Hoop dat dit zo mag blijven voor mijn 2e weblog jaar.

Wat een feest en dan heb ik gister ook nog de leeftijd van 41 jaar bereikt of mag ik terugtellen naar 39 jaar?
Prachtige bloemen en planten heb ik gekregen, daar hou ik ook zo van.

Van m’n man een prachtige jas en nog wat leuke kledingstukken gekregen in zo’n leuke winkel “Vila” wat net geopend was.
Staarde al door de winkelruit naar de wollen witte jas met leuke ruches en wilde deze zo graag, maar zei streng tegen mezelf Cin nog maar even wachten met kopen. Je bent net terug van vakantie…
Ik kon niet omdraaien in de winkel of Henri had de jas gekocht. Je wilde niet weten hoe intens blij ik was en ineens moest ik toch een paar tranen wegpinken, zo lief vond ik het.
En ik had al eerder zo’n mooi kado van hem gehad en daarmee maak ik al deze foto’s op m’n weblog.
Door mijn dochter ben ik ook zo heerlijk verwend, heerlijke warme pantoffels met een mooie rozenprint erop, heerlijk fleeceplaid en een hippe tas. Deze zal ik ook nog eens op de foto zetten.

Op het moment dat ik dit bericht plaats hoop ik dat de verbinding in stand blijft want die wil nog weleens wegvallen. Heb al een afspraak gemaakt en hoop dat het snel gemaakt zal worden. Dus ik probeer komende tijd op goed geluk berichtjes te plaatsen…

Friday, August 28 it was 17 years ago that we’ve been married. For every year a white rose for our wedding day he told me. Began with red roses for my birthday with a white rose in the bouquet. And now my husband surprised me with a beautiful bouquet with 17 white roses! Last holiday we were eating at a nice restaurant in a marina with live music and how appropriate the band sang the song of John Denver with “Take me home, country roads ...”
This was the song for our opening dance at our wedding, and yes even in the holiday we just danced on this song! For my love: I hope from my heart that the next year it will be 18 beautiful white roses, and that I may received it again with so much love!

Secretly, I let go my 1-year weblog anniversary ...
Even back in 2008 I started blogging on July 14, not knowing what a turn this has created for me. From March this year I have put a meter on my weblog and I can not believe it that from that time nearly 15,000 visitors have been counted, unimaginable.
Try as best as I can to translate in English. Apologies if it is not well written.
I can always happily talking about my weblog, perhaps for some people so boring…hahahaha I am so happy when I receive all these reactions, post and email, so sweet and nice .
Hope this may remain for 2nd year weblog.

What a party yesterday and then I also have reached the age of 41 years or should I count back to 39 years? Beautiful flowers and plants I received, I love it so much. Watch the pictures ...

The present from my husband was a beautiful coat and some nice clothes, saw it in some nice shop who named Vila which had just opened. Stared through the shop window I saw a gorgeous white wool coat with ruffles on it and I wanted that coat so badly, but just told myself to wait to buy. I am just back from vacation ...
I could not turn around in the shop or Henri my husband had bought the coat. You did not know how deeply happy I was and suddenly, I had a few tears in my eyes, I found it so sweet. And I had already such a nice gift from him and with that gift I make all these pictures on my weblog . Through my daughter I am very pampered, lovely warm slippers with a lovely rose print, lovely fleece plaid and a hip bag. Soon I will place those presents on the photo.

At the time of this post, I hope that the connection remains intact because it would still disappear sometimes. Have already made an appointment and hope that it will be made soon. So next time I try to post messages on good luck I think...

“Summertime…when the living is easy!”

"Summer Blessings..."

Dag lieve allemaal, ben weer op m’n blog te vinden…
Terug van een zalige vakantie in Oostenrijk, Italië, klein beetje in Slovenië en Kroatië.
Het is alweer veel te lang geleden dat ik een bericht heb geschreven op m’n blog, bleef ook maar in die theetuin hangen hahaha, was toch TE leuk!
Nee hoor, had even een blog pauze nodig omdat ik te gezellig druk was met van alles en nog wat.
Dank vanuit mijn hart voor al die warme attente mails die ik heb mogen ontvangen, of het goed ging met m’n gezondheid en of ik op vakantie was en natuurlijk al die prachtige foto’s van de mooie zelfgemaakte harten met de stitcheries. Zo lief van jullie al die bezorgdheid en ik vond het heel leuk andermans werk te bewonderen.
Van Mia en Nora van de quiltwinkel Stoffen en Stofferen te Bussum heb ik begrepen dat ze inmiddels al kant en klare pakketjes hebben voor het quiltje: Home is the happiest place. Via de webwinkel kan je deze pakketjes bestellen.

Nu weet ik niet eens waar ik moet beginnen met schrijven heb zoveel foto’s in de tussentijd gemaakt.
Zal ik beginnen bij de Country Fair in Aalten, vakantie, nieuwe handwerkmaakseltjes, de opnieuw gedecoreerde tienerkamer van mijn dochter Jodie in PIP studio of… teveel om op te noemen.

De vakantiewas die was blijven liggen hangt al aan het balkonnetje en geniet nu ’s avonds van zo’n warme en zwoele zomeravond.
Zal het nu even hierbij laten en met deze zomerlichtjes vertoef ik ’s avonds in onze tuin…

Voor allemaal nog een heerlijke warme zomer week toegewenst geniet er nog heerlijk van, de blog pauze heeft lang geduurd maar zal het zeker inhalen. Voel me nu weer helemaal goed ook dankzij de heerlijke vakantie en ben deze week inmiddels weer aan het wennen van het leven van alledag, tot gauw!

Hello everyone, I am back on my blog ...
Came home from a delightful holiday in Austria, Italy, a little bit in Slovenia and Croatia.
It has been too long since I’ve written a message on my blog, stuck in the teagarden hahaha, it was still fun! Nah, just had a blog break because I was pleasantly busy with anything and everything. Thanks from my heart for all those warm attentive mails that I may received, whether it was with my health and whether I was on vacation and of course all those beautiful pictures of the beautiful hearts stitcheries. So sweet of you all the concern about me and I really like to admire someone else’s craftwork. From Mia and Nora of the quilt shop in Bussum called “Stoffen en stofferen”, I understand that they have made already ready-made packages for the little weekend quilt: “Home is the happiest place” . Via the web shop you can order those packets.

At the moment I do not know where I should start writing, I’ve made so many photos in the meantime. Will I start at the Country Fair in Aalten, holidays, new craftwork or the newly decorated teenage room from my daughter Jodie in style of PIP studio or... too much to called. The last “holiday laundry” is now hanging on the balcony and I enjoy at the moment of the warm Summer evenings.
I will leave it by this message and I sit now with those summerlights what I’ve made in our garden…

I wish for all of you a wonderful warm summer week and enjoy it. My blog had a long break but I will definitely catch up. I am feeling me now quite well thanks to the holiday and now I am back and starting to get used to everyday life, see you soon!

Aansluitend na het bezoek bij Mia in haar quiltwinkel zijn Tanja en ik doorgereden naar de Theetuin in Eemnes waar Marieke ons stond op te wachten.
Ben nog nooit in deze theetuin geweest en daar aangekomen stond ik versteld van de sfeervolle entourage en gezellige locatie.
Heerlijke broodjes en taart gegeten en daarna kon ik alleen maar foto’s schieten, TE LEUK!
Verder zeg ik niets meer kijk maar naar de vele collages wat ik heb gemaakt…

After the visit at Mia’s quilt shop, Tanja and me drove to the Tea garden in the town Eemnes were Marieke was waiting for us. I never been in this teagarden and when we arrived I was so surprised of the beautiful entourage and cosiness location. We eat delicious sandwiches and pie and then I could only shoot pictures, it was TREMENDOUS!
I don’t speak anymore just only look at the many collages I’ve made...
If you want to do some leisure activities and you like a lot of old things (bric and brac) and beautiful plants, then this tea garden is a real winner!

Was a long post but I hope you have enjoyed with this photo collage.
After a lovely stay in the tea garden we go to the home of Marieke, she arranged a very delicious barbecue. Dearest Marieke and Tanja I only can say that I really cherish this day was so nice and very particular, have enjoyed our reunion! Rosette I have missed you but next time you will be there...

“Home is the happiest place”

En hier is het eindresultaat van mijn weekend quiltje “Home is the happiest place”.

Heb het aan een plankje gehangen in het hoekje waar ik altijd heerlijk aan het borduren of quilten ben.

Ons huis is al een beetje gehuld in zomerse sferen en daarom heb ik op de tak uit het bos lieveheersbeestjes gezet. Heb van de week alleen maar geurende aardbeitjes gemaakt maar dat ga je later zien.


Ik kreeg enorm veel vragen waar het patroon te koop is, deze kun je kopen in de winkel van stoffen en stofferen te Bussum.(klik op de naam voor website)
Afgelopen zaterdag was ik samen met Tanja en Renske gezellig bij Mia (eigenaresse) in de winkel en hebben we elkander voor het eerst ontmoet, ook weer zo’n lief en warm mens!
En heb echt m’n ogen uitgekeken… Dit is Mia en ze heeft dit prachtige quilt gemaakt “Ocean Wave” van allemaal rest stofjes.(slaak nu een lieve zucht)
Mocht je het patroon eventueel niet kunnen vinden op haar website dan is ze door mij al op de hoogte gesteld als je het wilt kopen. Bel of stuur een mailtje met de naam van dit quiltje en mijn naam dan weet ze wel wat je bedoelt.

En wat het is heerlijk weer op het moment, ga nu dus snel weer de tuin in waar alles prachtig bloeit tot laat in de avond. Raad je het al…, met een handwerkje! De Farm & Country Fair in Aalten staat ook nog gepland, ga deze voor het eerst bezoeken want het schijnt zo’n leuke fair te zijn…
Geniet zo heerlijk van dit begin van de zomer met de warme temperaturen, alvast een lekker vakantiegevoel krijg je ervan. En vanavond komt er een heerlijke rosé biertje op tafel met lekkere mediterrannee versnaperingen, bij jullie ook?

And here is the end result of my little weekend quilt “Home is the happiest place”.
I hung it on a shelf in the corner where I always enjoy to embroidery or quilting.
Our house is also a little bit decorated in summer moods and that’s why I put some ladybirds on a branch from a tree out of the forest. Last week I only made little scented strawberries but that you will see it later.

Last Saturday I was in the cozy shop from Mia (owner) with Tanja and Renske Mia and we met each other for the first time, also a very sweet and warm hearted person!

She is already informed about this pattern when you can not found it on her website.
Call or send an email with the name of this quilt and my name then she knows what you mean when you want to buy it.

And what a good weather do we have at the moment, go now quickly into the garden where everything is beautiful blooms till late in the evening. Do you already guess ..., yes with a little work for handcrafting! And we also planned “The Farm & Country Fair in the town of Aalten”, this will be our first visit because I read that it must be such a fun fair...
I am enjoying this early summer so much with the great warm temperatures, get already a feeling like summer holiday. For tonight I serve a lovely rosé beer on the table with delicious Mediterranean sweets, are you too?

Onlangs is mijn vriendin Ellen jarig geweest en dit heb ik voor haar gemaakt in haar woonkleuren.
Al bijna 24 jaar lief en leed delen we met elkaar en zo zie ik haar met deze woorden wat ik heb gestitched op het kussen, voor mijn allerliefste schat van een vriendin! (moet nu even een traantje wegpinken hoor)
De hartjes stof is van “Honey and Me” en deze mix aan stoffen kun je kopen bij Atelier Bep.

Van een glazen pot heb ik een windlicht gemaakt, tekening van de stitcherie hartjes op perkament papier overgetrokken en met spuitlijm geplakt. En als ze het waxinelichtje aan steekt dan brand er een heel mooi diffuus lichtje.

De vier harten staan symbool voor haar gezin en dat dit lichtje hun harten maar steeds mogen verwarmen.

Recently, my friend Ellen celebrate her birthday and this is what I made in her homeliving colours.
For almost 24 years we share love, happiness and sorrow with each other and with these words what I have stitched on the pillow so I see her, my Beloved friend! (now I must sweep a tear away)
The hearts fabric is from “Honey and Me” and the mix of fabrics you can buy it at Atelier Bep.
The text is from the series “From the heart” of Natalie Bird.

From a glass jar, I made a hanging light lantern, I drawn the pattern of the stitcherie hearts on matt parchment paper and pasted it with spray glue.
And if they lighting the candle in the glass jar there will be a beautiful diffused light. The four hearts symbolize her family and may this light warms their loving hearts.

Las op de quilten.startpagina.nl dat er op Hemelvaartsdag een leuke creatieve markt werd gehouden met een quilttentoonstelling in Kerk-Avezaath.
Op de dag zelf had ik het thuisfront voorgesteld om hier naar toe te gaan en ja hoor zo lief waren ze hahaha…
Ook maar mijn ouders meegevraagd en dat vonden ze wel leuk zo’n uitje.
Aangekomen was er in het plaatselijke kerkje de creatieve markt en wat een moois hebben we daar aan quilts gezien.

M’n oog viel meteen op de hele mooie “weddingring” quilt en deze is gemaakt door deze aardige mevrouw Janet van de Poll. Echt zo prachtig en mooi gemaakt…

Mijn vader en Henri bleven buiten geduldig wachten op m’n moeder, dochter en ik want wij waren nog helemaal niet uitgekeken hahaha.
Als jong meisje van 7 jaar heb ik van mijn moeder het handwerken geleerd en later toen ik 12 jaar was ook op de naaimachine om m’n eigen kleding te maken. Van mijn oma en tantes het haken en breien. En nu als je wat ouder bent en zo je passie in kan vinden dan ben ik hun zo dankbaar voor dat ze het me hebben geleerd.
Helaas wil mijn lieve moeder niet meer handwerken maar ze bekijkt altijd de dingen wat ik maak en support me daar ook zo mee. En ja in bestellen bij mij is ze ook goed in hahahaha…

Dankzij de tip van Mea - weblog Mayflower heb ik een leuke collage kunnen maken, dankjewel lieve Mea!

En lijk ik een beetje op m'n moeder...?

Wij konden alleen de kreten ooohhh en aaahhh uitslaan langs alle mooi quilts wat we zagen.
En deze miniaturen, helemaal geweldig. Ik heb op zolder nog een poppenhuis staan die ik ook zo graag wil inrichten in een handwerkhuis. Dit poppenhuis is gemaakt voor mij door een lieve oom Karel en is familie van Henri. Hij heeft zelfs poppenhuis meubeltjes voor me in elkaar gezet. Ik zal deze zeker een keer laten zien, nu de tijd nog om het in te richten net als deze kijkkistjes.
Na twee uur rondgekeken te hebben nog lekker een heerlijke pannenkoek gegeten als afsluiter van een mooie dag.

On the site of quilten.startpagina.nl I read that on Ascension Day there was a creative market with a quilt exhibition in the small town of Kerk-Avezaath. On that day I proposed to my family to go to this creative market and yes, they were so sweet ... hahaha
Also we asked my parents to join us and they found it already such fun for a day out.
In the local church their was the creative market and what a beauty we have seen in quilts.
My eye fell immediately on the very beautiful “wedding ring” quilt and is made by Mrs Janet van de Poll. Really beautiful ...

My father and Henry waits patiently outside and in the meanwhile my mother, daughter and I looked further at the quilt exhibition .
As a young girl of 7 years, my mother taught me how to do needlework and 12 years later I also was crafting on the sewing machine to make my own clothes. My grandmother and aunts they taught me how to crochet and knitting.
And now when I become older and I find my passion in the handcrafting I am so grateful that they have taught me. Unfortunately, my dear mother would not handcraft anymore but she always looks at the things I make and support me too. And yes, she is also good in ordering by me for some handmade goods hahahaha ... Thanks to Mea of the weblog Mayflower for het tip to make an photo collage, thank you Mea!And do I look like my mother...?

We could only shout ooohhh and aaahhh when we saw all the beautiful quilts.
And those miniatures, absolutely fabulous. In the attic at home I also have a dollhouse and I also would like to decorate it in a craft/quilting house. This dollhouse is made for me by a dear uncle Karel and he is family of Henri. He has even made dollhouse furniture, so sweet.
I will certainly to show this dollhouse but I must find the time to decorate it like these “looking” boxes. After two hours looking on the quilt exhibition we ended the beautiful and lovely day with a delicious pancake. Was a very pleasant day out Dad and Mom , Love from your daughter Cindy.

In mijn vorige post had ik al geschreven dat ik wel aan een ieder zo graag de Award wil geven omdat jullie allemaal het zo verdienen met al die mooie en zeer inspirerende weblogs!
Altijd een feestje om al het moois aan creativiteit te zien. Zowel op woongebied als op creatief gebied.
En voor diegene die niet zijn genoemd of stilletjes meelezen op mijn weblog hierbij een kadootje van mij.
Het is het patroon naar eigen ontwerp van de hartjes wat ik heb gemaakt op onze vakantiereis naar Trieste te Italië.
Ik heb deze stitcherie geborduurd met Venne gemerceerde katoen borduurgaren nr. 3039 warmrood. (Let op, niet de katoen/linnen!).
Deze kun je kopen bij Atelier Bep. (klik op de naam dan kom je op haar webwinkel uit)
Onder accessoires op pagina 1 heeft ze een range aan kleuren van dit garen en het stitched heerlijk weg met dit garen. Uiteraard kun je ook twee draadjes DMC borduurgaren gebruiken.

Ben ervan uitgegaan voor degene die deze stitcherie willen maken al ervaren zijn met borduren/handwerken. Voor degene die nog niet helemaal ervaren zijn en toch een werkbeschrijving willen, mail me dan. (rechtsboven vind je m’n mailadres, “about me”)
Kan je niet wachten en wil je meteen beginnen met deze stitcherie dan verwijs ik je nu even naar een ouder post van mij met een kleine werkbeschrijving, hier en hier.

Met het vullen van dit hartje met zachte wattine doe ik er meestal 3 á 4 theelepel schepjes geurkorreltjes erbij uit bijv. de serie van Greenleaf met de geur Hope. Je huis zal er dan heerlijk naar geuren, mmm….!

In my previous post I had already written that I want to give the award to you all because you all deserve it with all these beautiful and very inspiring blogs! Always a party to see all those beauty of creativity. Both on home living and creative area.
And for those who are not been mentioned or quietly read my weblog a gift from me.
It is the pattern from my own design of the hearts I’ve made on our holiday to Trieste in Italy. I have this stitcherie embroidered with cotton embroidery yarn Venne gemerceerde No 3039 red hot. (Note, not the cotton / linen). You can buy it at the Atelier Bep. (click on the name for her webshop)
Go to accessories on page 1, she has a range of colors of this yarn and to stitch with this yarn is very great. Of course you can also use two threads using DMC embroidery thread.

I assumed for those who want to make this stitchery are already experienced with embroidery / needlework. For those who were not yet experienced and still want the description, mail me. (top right you will find my address, “about me”)
Can you not wait and want to start immediately then I refer you now to an earlier post of mine for a small description of stitcherie, here and here.
To fill this heart with soft wattine I usually fill it also with 3 to 4 teaspoon scoops with scent granules, for example the series of Green Leaf with the scent Hope. Your house is going to smell very delicious, mmm ....!

Al enige tijd geleden heeft die lieve Mea een veels TE gek berichtje achtergelaten, moest even op haar blog kijken want er lag een verrassing voor me klaar…!
Voelde m’n wangen roodgloeiend worden en werd helemaal verlegen.
Van haar ontving ik de “I love your Blog Award”, zo GAAF.
Meteen werd ik besprongen door de dames van de “Cackle Club” die met me meekeken want dit is wat ze over me schreef, kan toch niet anders dan dat je daar verlegen van wordt.
“Een prachtige blog van een creatieve vrouw, die prachtige dingen maakt, zoals die vrolijke Cackle Club, daar wordt je toch blij van en mooie verhalen verteld over haar vakantie in Italië”. Dankjewel Mea voor deze warme attentie!

En ja de dames van de “Cackle Club” begonnen weer over die leuke meneer Haan die ze met Pasen had staan, waar die was gebleven…
Nu heb ik besloten om deze te gekke Award door te geven als een prachtige slinger op ieder weblog, het moeten er eigenlijk 8 zijn maar ik kom nu uit op 10.
Het blijft een vreugde om al die Awards te zien op de weblogs, blijf in de feeststemming hahahha… weet niet van ophouden.

For some time ago dear Mea wrote me a lovely message on my blog and I must watch on her blog because there was a surprise for me ...! Felt my cheeks are red hot and was quite shy. From her I received the “I love your Blog Award”, so cool. Immediately, I was jumped by the ladies of the “Cackle Club” who were watching with me because this is what she wrote about me, it was not possible to feel not shy about it. “A beautiful blog of a creative woman who makes beautiful things, like the cheerful Cackle Club, it makes you feel so happy and the beautiful stories she tell about her holiday in Italy. Mea Thanks for this warm attention!

And so the ladies of the “Cackle Club” started to talk again about the nice Mr. Rooster that she had at Easter, where was he... Now I have decided to pass this Award as a beautiful garland at each weblog, it should be actually 8 but I come at 10. "Loungeparty 14, something red..."

En van een kinderverjaardag gaan we naar een tiener party!
Kado is tegenwoordig een nieuwe mobiel, wel een schuiver want dat is hip. We hebben ook een spaarpot gegeven in de hoop dat ze eindelijk eens gaat sparen, uuhhh voor beltegoed? hihihi….
Ze wist eindelijk een beslissing te maken wat ze met haar verjaardag wilde doen.

Onze vriendin Juliëtte bood haar hulp aan en heeft een geweldige uitnodigingskaart ontworpen: Loungeparty 14, something red!

Het thema van het feest was in de kleur rood, dress code is ook rood...

Juliëtte is een kanjer in het organiseren en aankleden van party’s, een echte “Party planner” tot in de details en haar vriend Arno verzorgde de muziek!

Jodie staat de jonge gasten al op te wachten. Jodie received her guests...

Gifts is now a new mobile, a “dozers” because it is hip. We also gave her a piggy bank in the hope that she finally are saving, uuhhh for call credit? hihihi ....
She did finally make a decision what she wanted to do with her birthday.
Juliëtte our friend offered her help and she designed a great invitation card: Loungeparty 14, something red! The theme of the party was in the color red dress code is red...Juliëtte is so good in the organization of parties and dressing, a real “Party planner” in detail and Arno her friend did the music! . Just an impression of the garden party ...

Jodie would like a horse, and she get it as a present in her size of all the guys ... hihihi! It was certainly a very fun and successful party. And I, I have really a double celebration and hang also garlands too but about that you can read it tomorrow ... Cindy X

"Hip Hip Hooray, Jodie’s 14th birthday…"

Tweede Pinksterdag was het feest want onze dochter Jodie is 14 jaar geworden!
En wat ga je als moeder doen, weer even terug naar de dag van toen…hihihi.

Ik weet het nog als de dag van gister, van een mollig baby’tje nu een hele meid en in de puberteit…
Druk kan ze zijn met paardjes en niet te vergeten met vriendinnen, vriendjes?, make-upjes, sms-en, msn-en, hyves en wat minder met huiswerk...
Voor jou mijn lieve Jodie dit gedichtje van je vader en moeder, we LOVE you so much!

At the second Pentecost was the birthday of our daughter Jodie, she is now 14 years old! What do you do as a mother, again back to the day when she was born... hihihi.
I remember it as yesterday, from a chubby baby and now a girl in puberty...
So busy with horses and not to forget with girlfriends, boyfriends, make-up, sms, msn, Hyves and less with homework for school. For you my dear Jodie this poem from your father and mother We LOVE you so much!

“I am in the garden…”

Wat is het genieten buiten op het moment, heerlijk temperatuurtje…

Inmiddels de tuin ook gezellig aangekleed met plantjes, wat kun je daar zo vrolijk van worden.

Heb al helemaal zin in de zomer, lekker wiebelen op m’n schommelbank met een lekker handwerkje tot in de late uurtjes en een lekker glas koude rosé!

Voor binnen heb ik m’n lekker ruikende aardbeitjes van Tilda weer neergezet alvast voor een heerlijk zomergevoel…

En op m’n schommelbank ben ik met deze top van een klein weekend quiltje bezig geweest…

It is so enjoying outside at the moment, the temperature is very great…
Now our garden is also nice decorated with plants, what a happy feeling brings those plants. I get some summer feeling at the moment, nice wobble on my swing bench with a nice craftwork in my hands and stitch in the late hours with a good glass of wine rosé!
For inside our home I decorate with my nice smelling strawberry’s from Tilda for a lovely summer feeling ...
And at my swing bench, I am busy with a small weekend quilt...

“Flowers are Love's Truest Language…”

Oh wat ben ik van al die bloemetjes heerlijk van opgeknapt en op het moment gaat het heel goed!

Oh from all these wonderful flowers I recover very well and on this moment I am staying very well with my health!

“Farewell, home sweet home…”

En zo hebben we 30 april jongstleden weer afscheid moeten nemen…
Ook het vreselijke nieuws wat er met Koninginnedag hebben we vernomen van onze vrienden, wij wisten totaal niet wat er gaande was. Zij zagen ook de televisiebeelden wat voor drama er afspeelde in Nederland. Vol verbazing en kippevel kregen we toen we het nieuws vernamen, gedachten van ons gingen uit naar de slachtoffers en hun familie.
Op onze terugreis op 1 mei zagen we onderweg bij de benzine pompen en raststatte de krantenkoppen vol staan met foto’s van dit drama en beelden op de televisie. Zo moeilijk in woorden te beschrijven over dit vreselijke drama met zoveel verdriet!

Na een paar honderd km. te hebben gereden maakten we een pitstop en we kwamen aan in een Landhaus en mijn oog viel op deze prachtige borduurwerken/stitcheries…

Heerlijk vind ik het om te handwerken in de auto, ben begonnen met een weekend quiltje…

We moesten nog na de pitstop zo’n 950 km. rijden dus kon nog heerlijk even handwerken.

’s Avonds om 23:00uur zijn we goed en veilig thuisgekomen en onze “Oma Poes Donna” voerde de inspectie uit in de auto!

Oooohhhh wat hebben we haar gemist…!


And so we return on April 30 and made our last farewell ...
The terrible news of Queensday was told from our friends, we didn’t knew what was going on. They saw the television images of what drama is happening in the Netherlands.
Astonished we were and we are getting goose skin when we heard the news, our thoughts went out to the victims and their families. On our return we saw on May 1 at the petrol pumps and raststatte the headlines in the Austrian and German newspapers are filled with pictures and images of this tragedy and also on television. So difficult in words to describe this terrible tragedy with such sadness!

After a few hundred km. we drove to a pitstop and we came to a Landhaus and my eye fell on this gorgeous embroidery / stitcheries ...
I love to craft in the car, I started with a little weekend quilt...
After the pitstop we still must drive some 950 km. so I can make plenty stitches. In the evening at 23:00 we are well and safe at home, and our “Grandma Cat Donna”, she makes the inspection in the car! Ooohhh we missed her so…!

“Horses leave hoof prints on your heart…”

Dit was ook zo bijzonder… Michele had voor onze dochter Jodie geregeld dat ze kon paardrijden via zijn collega, en ja hoor een hele grote glimlach verscheen op haar mond.
Daarvoor moesten we wel even de grens over naar Slovenië en door deze ontzettende hartelijke vrouw zijn we heel bijzonder gastvrij ontvangen.
Haar zoon Marco zou met Jodie in de geweldige natuur van Slovenië rijden.
Al wachtend zag ik lieve diertjes die op haar erf liepen en jawel de poes had een grote dikke muis gevangen… yek!

En haar hond Daki had mijn hart gestolen. Je zal het niet geloven, hij poseerde voor de camera en jawel hij lachte hahaha… gekke hond. Was echt zo’n lieverd.
Net als mevrouw, schoondochter en Marco, ondanks dat we de Italiaanse taal niet goed beheersen hebben we veel gelachen met elkander en met m’n woordenboek Italiaans in de hand toch nog even twee uur met elkander lekker zitten praten.

En daar kwam Jodie op Jackie samen met Marco op Sanmat terug na een rit van twee uur, honderduit heeft ze gekletst over wat ze allemaal heeft gezien op de terugreis naar het hotel.

Paard Sanmat is een kruising van een lipizaner en een engelse volbloed, zo prachtig en temperamentvol!

Wat een bijzondere gastvrije en zeer lieve familie hebben wij mogen ontmoeten!

En dit tripje hebben we ook nog gemaakt in een hele oude tram van Opicina naar Trieste, ontzettend stijl maar een heel mooi uitzicht over de stad en de zee.

And this trip we also made in a very old tram Opicina to Trieste, great style but a very nice view over the city and the sea.

This was also special ... Michele had arranged trough his colleague for our daughter Jodie that she could riding on a horse, and yes a big smile appeared on her mouth.
There fore we must drive across the border to Slovenia and so we get a very warm welcome that we received from this warm-hearted Mrs.
Her son Marco goes horse riding with Jodie in the great nature of Slovenia.
While we were waiting, I saw these dear creatures that walked on its heritage and yes the cat had caught a big fat mouse ... yek! And her dog Daki had stolen my heart.
You will not believe he posed for the camera and yes he laughed hahaha ... mad dog. Was really a sweetheart.
Like Mrs, daughter and Marco, despite that we speak the Italian language not very well we laughed a lot with each other and with my Italian dictionary in my hand we spoke to each other for two hours.
And there was Jodie on Jackie with Marco on Sanmat back after a ride of two hours, Jodie talked so much when we on our way back to the hotel.

Horse Sanmat is a cross between a lipizaner and English thoroughbred, so beautiful and very spirited.
What a special welcoming and very heart warming family, we meet!

“A special friend is a treasure for life…”

Blijf nog even met m’n verhaaltjes schrijven over Italië, kan er wel honderduit over praten.
Als we op reis gaan neem ik een grote hobbytas mee, wordt met de jaren inmiddels een koffer hahaha… Bereid de tas en een grote map voor met wat ik zou willen maken in de vakanties, dit wordt natuurlijk altijd teveel. Ik zou maar te weinig meenemen…
In de auto op de heenreis was ik met deze stitcherie bezig, toepasselijk omdat we weer een leuk weerzien zouden hebben met onze vrienden. We hebben al 23 jaar een warme vriendschap met elkaar. Het zijn twee hartjes geworden en de teksten spreken voorzich...

En zo heb ik van onze lieve vriendin Christina heel gezellig kookles gehad.

Lekkere pasta met verse pesto wat haar moeder heeft gemaakt en een tomatensaus met heerlijke kruiden.

Lekkere ratatouille uit de oven en dit zijn een soort soep stengels omwikkeld met prosciutto, mmmmm…..

En na afloop hebben we deze lekkere Illy koffielikeur gedronken.

Heb van Christina en Michele een fles gekregen en nu hier in Nederland drink ik ’s avonds een lekker glaasje. Nu heel zuinig drinken want ik weet niet wanneer we de volgende keer gaan om weer een lekker flesje mee te nemen… hahahah.
Hé wat is dat toch allemaal te lekker! Saluté...

Prepare this bag and a large folder for what I would like to make during the holidays, it is always too much. Imagine that I would take little craftwork with me, that must not happen…
In the car on the journey I was busy with this stitchery, how suitable because again we had a nice reunion with our friends. We have for 23 years a warm friendship with each other. They are two hearts, and the texts speak for themselves ...

And so I had of our dear friend Christina a very nice cooking lesson. Delicious pasta with fresh pesto what her mother has made and delicious tomato sauce with herbs. Delicious ratatouille in the oven and a sort of soup stems are wrapped in prosciutto, mmmmm ...
And after we drunk this delicious Illy coffee liqueur.
From Christina and Michele they give to me as a present a bottle of this Illy coffee liqueur and in the evening at home I got a very nice drink.
Very economical drink because I do not know when will be the next time that we go back for to bring a nice bottle home... hahahah.
Mmmm… what a delicious goodies! Saluté...

“Meet and greet with Giusy..."

Op 29 april 2009 had ik ’s ochtends een afspraak met een lieve weblog vriendin Giusy in Italië.
Vorig jaar had ik haar aangeschreven om te vragen of ze me adressen kon sturen van quilt-, hand- of stoffenwinkels in Triëste. We komen er al jaren en nog nooit had ik er één gezien. En jawel een heel lijstje had ze me gestuurd en wat nog leuker was ze woont ook in de stad Triëste. En zo hebben we elkaar vorig jaar voor het eerst ontmoet. Al popelend om haar te zien heeft Henri en Jodie me afgezet met de tas vol kadootjes.

Op het plein Piazza Unità spraken we met elkaar af om een heerlijke grande caffé latte met wat lekkers te nuttigen.

Wat een geweldig weerzien, helemaal omdat ze nu ook zwanger is!

En kijk eens wat ze speciaal voor me heeft gemaakt een hele leuke Tilda theemuts met een theezakjes houder. Ze heeft stoffen gebruikt wat uit Japan komt daar werkt ze veel mee in haar projecten. Helemaal LEUK en ben er onwijs blij mee!
Ook dit bijzonder weerzien vergeet ik nooit meer. De wereld wordt echt kleiner via de weblogs en zeker als je elkaar mag ontmoeten...

Lieve Giusy, ben reuzebenieuwd naar je baby en ik koester onze ontmoeting! Tot de volgende keer…veel liefs van mij.

In de middag hebben we lekker rond gelopen in Triëste en dan kijk ik altijd omhoog… en dit is wat je ziet. Mooie huizen met die typische luikjes, prachtig…

’s Avonds heeft Henri een partijtje voetbal gespeeld in een plaatselijke wijk San Luigi en “Nederland” hierin vertegenwoordigd.

Vriend Maurizio sponsort deze plaatselijke voetbalclub en heeft een bedrijfje in autolakken “Trieste Colori”.

On April 29, 2009, I had this morning a meeting with a dear weblog Giusy girlfriend in Italy. Last year I wrote her to ask if she could send me addresses of quilt, fabric or handcraft shops in Trieste. For years we visit this city and never had seen one of those shops. And yes se send me a list where I can find those shops in Trieste and guess what, she live in the city of Trieste. And so last year we meet each other for the first time. I wanted to see her so much that morning, so Henry and Jodie has sett me off with my bag full of presents. In the square Piazza Unità we should met each other for a delicious grande caffe latte with some goodies to consume. What a great reunion, especially because now she is pregnant! And look what she had specially made for me a nice Tilda tea bag holder. She uses some fabrics from Japan and she uses it a lot into her crafting projects. I love the presents and I am so happy with it! This particular reunion shall I never forget. The world is really smaller through the blogs and especially if you can meet each other live... Dear Giusy, I am curious to your baby and I cherish our meeting! Until next time ... love you!

In the afternoon we walked around trough the streets in Trieste and then I always look up ... and this is what you see. Beautiful houses with typical shutters, so gorgeous!
In the evening Henri played a football game in the local neighborhood who called “San Luigi”, and he presented “The Netherlands. Dear friend Maurizio sponsors this local football club and a have a company “Trieste Colori” who sell car paints.

De volgende dag hebben we heerlijk in de stad vertoefd… Onze dochter Jodie wilde meteen shoppen, tja dat krijg je op deze leeftijd van 13 jaar.
En mams… is daar natuurlijk ook heel blij mee dus “Shop till your drop”!

Eerst een lekker espresso’tje gedronken in één van de zovele cafétjes op de hoeken van de straatjes in Trieste.
Hier drink je als je staat voor € 0,80 een heerlijke espresso, neem je plaats op het terras en drink je daar je espresso dan kost het € 1,00. Typisch hé?

We zijn naar de “centro commerciale Torri d’Europa” gereden en tja daar aangekomen
dan weet je weer dat je in het land van de schoenen en de tassen bent….

En ik sta met mijn dochter Jodie te “overleggen” wat ze nou moet kopen aan kleding hoor ik ineens “Wat heerlijk om mijn eigen taal te horen…” Verbaasd keken we om en ontmoet ik deze Nederlandse dame. Dit is Mathilde en ze is sinds twee jaar (geloof ik) geëmigreerd naar Trieste – Italië vanuit Zwolle. Haar man werkt bij het bedrijf Wartsila en had de keus of een nieuwe baan te zoeken in Nederland of mee verhuizen naar Trieste. En dat hebben ze dus gedaan met het gezin van 4 kinderen. Vind het toch zo knap en moedig, is toch wel een hele grote keus in je leven wat je moet maken en zeker met kinderen. Nu woont ze in een heel mooi plaatsje net boven Trieste in Opicina.
En zo stonden we zeker een uur met elkaar te praten!
Mathilde ik hoop dat je dit leest en dat je contact met me opneemt, vond het een hele bijzondere ontmoeting en nog steeds denk ik eraan!

Voor de avond heeft Maurizio voorgesteld om in een trattoria (etablissement) in de stad Trieste te eten. Hier hebben we wat typische gerechten uit Trieste gegeten, mmmm..... Wat is het toch heerlijk allemaal, lekkere hammen en wijnen uit het vat getapt. Pfff... TÉ lekker allemaal!

The next day we enjoy to stay in the city... Our daughter Jodie want to immediately shopping, well that is what you wish at this age of 13 years... And Mom is of course also very happy so “Shop till your drop!”

First we drink a nice espresso on one of the many little café’s on the corners in the streets of Trieste. Here you drink a delicious espresso for € 0.80, when you take place on the terrace and you drink your espresso there than it cost € 1, 00. Very typical isn’t it?s.

In a clothing shop I am with my daughter Jodie to discuss what she must buy on clothes and suddenly I hear someone say: “How wonderful to hear my own language ...”
Surprised we looked up and I met this Dutch lady. This is Mathilde and she has two years (I think) emigrated to Trieste - Italy from the the town Zwolle in the Netherlands.
Her husband works at the company Wärtsilä and had the choice of a new job search in the Netherlands or to move to Trieste. And they have done so with the family of 4 children. Find it so clever and brave of this family, it is a big choice in your life what you must make and especially with children. Now she lives in a beautiful village just above Trieste in Opicina. And so we talk for certainly an hour to each other! Mathilde I hope you read this and you that you contact me, for me it was a very special meeting and still I remembered!

We drove to the “Centro Commerciale Torri d’Europa” and when we’re arrived then you know that your back in the land of the shoes and bags....

For the evening Maurizio has suggested to have dinner at a trattoria (establishment) in the city of Trieste. Here we ate typical dishes of Trieste, was very delicious. We ate her typical dishes from Trieste. How delicious is all the food here, ham and wine from the barrel. Pfff....TÓ good!

Have so much to tell but that is again in a subsequent message.

"Our spring journey to Trieste – Italia…Part One”

"Milka koeien van Pension Edelweiss"

Met de voorjaarsvakantie van 26 april tot en met 1 mei zijn we voor een week naar Trieste geweest, lekker ertussen uit en voor een leuk weerzien met onze Italiaanse vrienden.
Om half drie ’s nachts vertrokken we en de bedoeling was om een pension of gasthof te vinden na de lange Tauern tunnel in Oostenrijk. We zijn in het plaatsje Rennweg aangekomen deze omgeving ligt in een prachtig skigebied. Wat we dus niet wisten was dat het skiseizoen was afgelopen en dat de mensen daar zelf met vakantie gingen, dit werd ons verteld door een Nederlandse immigrante die daar zelf een gasthof heeft. Vanaf 12 uur ’s middags hebben we gezocht tot 5 uur ’s middags voor een overnachtingplaats.
Bij Pension Edelweiss aangekomen zag het er ook zo uitgestorven uit maar de deur was open, goed teken na zo lang in de auto te hebben gezeten. Wij riepen of er iemand was maar geen respons totdat ik een meneer (de eigenaar) koeienmest op een kar zag scheppen naast het huis.

Gelukkig konden wij bij deze vriendelijke meneer Koch terecht, nadat we de overnachtingkoffer hebben neergezet in de gezellig kamer hebben we lekker dit lekker gegeten in een restaurant. Heerlijk toch zo’n Oostenrijkse schnitzel, mmmm….

De volgende dag op ons gemakje doorgereden naar Italie naar plaats van bestemming.
In een idyllisch hotel Krizman in de bergen boven de stad Trieste verbleven we hier voor een week. Voorheen dachten we dat het alleen een restaurant betrof maar op internet zagen we dus ook hotel.

Als "gewone toerist” hadden we dit nooit gevonden, voor een paar jaar geleden hebben onze vrienden ons meegenomen naar dit restaurant/hotel.

Het eten hier is zo voortreffelijk, ze staan ook niet voor niets in de Michelin Guide.

Bij binnenkomst tref je al deze heerlijkheden aan, heerlijke wijnen en honing uit de streek.

Zo keken we over de wijngaarden vanuit ons hotelkamer en onder deze 90 jaar oude kastanjebomen lekker vertoeven met een heerlijk cappucino of een lekker glas wijn …

Voor de avond zijn we uitgenodigd samen met Maurizio voor een heerlijke maaltijd in de casa van onze vrienden Michele en Christina en hun zoon Francesco, zij wonen in Muggia t.o.v. Trieste.

Wat een heerlijk voorgerecht staat er klaar wat Christina voor ons heeft gemaakt, mmm... Bruschetta met knoflook erop geraspt met tomaatjes in olie en kruiden, lekkere prosciutto met mortadella ham! En Michele heeft voor ons lekker gegrild buiten, wat heerlijk om zo'n gril te hebben...

Op naar Part two van onze reis, Into the 2nd part of our journey...

At the spring journey of April 26 and May 1 we went for a week to Trieste for a nice break and a nice reunion with our Italian friends.
For half past two the night we left our home and the intention was to provide a pension or gasthof be found after the long Tauern tunnel – Austria to stay over the night.
So we arrived in the town Rennweg in Austria, the surrounding area is a beautiful ski resort.
What we did not know was that the ski season was over and that the people themselves went on vacation, was told by a Dutch immigrant who has a gasthof of her own.
From 12 noon, we sought to 5 pm for a place to stay the night over.
So we arrived by Pension Edelweiss, it seemed also extinct, but the door was open, a good sign after such so long stay in the car. We call for anyone but still no response until I saw a man (the owner) he was busy to shovel cow manure on a car next to the house.
Fortunately, we can stay over the night in this Pension Edelwise from the friendly Mr. Koch. Right after we have put our overnight bag in the cozy room, we have this tasty bite to eat. A very good and delicious Austrian schnitzel, mmmm ...

Next day we went on a easily way to Italy for our destination.
In an idyllic hotel Krizman in the mountains above the city of Trieste we stayed here for one week. Previously we thought that it was only a restaurant but we saw on the internet including hotel.

As “ordinary tourists” we’ve never found this place, for a few years ago our friends brought us to this restaurant/hotel.

The food here is excellent, they nominated also in the Michelin Guide.
In the lobby you find all these delights to fine wines and honey from the region.
And so we looked over the vineyards from our hotel room and under these 90 years old chestnut you can sit here with a delicious cappuccino ... In the evening we were invited along with Maurizio for a delicious meal in the house of our friends Michel and Christina and their son Francesco, they live in the town Muggia instead of the town Trieste.
