Winter dreaming

De afgelopen weken ben ik weer heerlijk bezig geweest met een Winter borduurtje. 

Patroon afkomstig van het leuke borduurblad "Mains & Merveilles", uitgave November/ December 2014.

The recent weeks I've been busy with a very cute Winter embroidery project.

It's a embroidery pattern from the magazine "Mains & Merveilles", published November / December 2014.

Het kleurengebruik voor dit borduurpatroon is blauw, ik heb het samengesteld in mijn favoriete rode kleurtjes. 

The colors they used for this embroidery pattern is blue, I've composite it in my favorite red colors.

Borduurwerk had ik al een tijdje af en zocht nog naar leuke stofjes in mijn manden voor om het borduurwerkje heen.

En zo heb ik afgelopen maandagavond heel fijn gewerkt met deze allerleukste sneeuwvlokjesstof van Modafabric - French General. Had ik vorig jaar ontvangen via de leuke "pakjespost" van atelier Bep.

For a while ago I already finished this Winter embroidery project and I was still looking for cute matching fabrics in my baskets which I want to use for around the embroidery.

And so last Monday I loved to work with these cutest snowflakes fabric of Modafabric - French General. Received these lovely fabrics last year from atelier Bep.

 Op een kartonnetje heb ik het borduurwerk geplakt en in dit lijstje gedaan.

On a piece of cardboard I glued the embroidery work and framed it.

Een mooie en lang gekoesterde Winterse droom is uitgekomen...!

A beautiful and a long cherished Winter dream has come true...!

“In the mood for Valentine…”

In de maand Februari versier ik meestal met hartjes.

De winterdecoratie heb ik alweer opgeruimd en nu Valentijnsdag een beetje dichterbij begint te komen zal in huis vele gezellige hartjes te zien zijn.

Hou ontzettend veel van harten en heb ook met heel veel liefde aan dit kleine harten quiltje gewerkt vorig jaar.

Hartjes handgemaakt met de techniek “omgekeerd appliceren”, ontzettend leuk om te leren en te doen.

Love a lot of hearts and so I’ve worked with a lot of love to this little hearts quilt last year.

Hearts are handmade with the technique of "reverse appliqué" incredibly fun 

to learn and do.

Voor ieder hartje heb ik een verschillend harten quiltstofje gebruikt, kijk maar...

For each heart, I used different hearts of quilt fabric, please look ...

En als je om de hartjes quilt vind ik het effect zo leuk omdat de hartjes dan wat naar voren komen in het quiltje.

And when you quilt around the hearts they come a little bit forward, love the effect!

“My embroidered pottery sampler and toile de jouy…”

Met het kopje thee zetten vandaag op deze regenachtige dag bedacht ik ineens om jullie eindelijk mijn geborduurde serviesmerklap te laten zien.

With making a cup of tea today on this rainy day suddenly came up in my mind to finally show you  my embroidered pottery sampler.

 In diverse posten heb ik (klik) hier, hier en hier laten zien dat ik ermee bezig was maar nooit helemaal af en in een lijstje.

In several posts which I have post (click) here, here and here I showed that I was working on it but never shown completely finished and in a frame.

 In 2008 ben ik ermee begonnen en heb in het jaar 2011 dit serviesmerklap afgemaakt.

In 2008 I started it and in the year 2011 finished this embroidery pottery sampler.

Komt uit het blad Ariadne, februari 1993.

Pattern comes from the magazine Ariadne, in February 1993.

Stond afgebeeld in het blauw en heb deze zelf naar de kleurtint rood omgevormd omdat zoals velen inmiddels weten dat de tinten rood toch echt mijn favoriete woonkleuren zijn.

Was depicted in blue and I have it converted to the colour tint red because as you know that the reds shades are really my favorite living colors.

 In het lente en zomer seizoen verander ik in huis naar zachtere rode tinten, crème, wit en combineer ik meestal met naturel linnenkleur.

Koraalrood geniet ook zo mijn voorkeur, lekker fris oogt het voor als de buitentemperaturen gaan stijgen.

In the spring and summer season at home I change into softer shades of red, cream, white, and I usually combine with natural linen color.

Coral red is also my preference, it looks nice and fresh for when the outside temperatures rise.

 Zo ben ik dan voor 2 jaar geleden begonnen met het verzamelen van Engels servies, deze theepot heb ik gekregen van een hele lieve tante Ineke.

Lekker verzamelen op de rommelmarkten en soms ontvang ik deze zelfs kado van lieve vriendinnen als ze het ook tegenkomen.

Vindt het zo’n lieflijk servies wat goed past met toile de jouy wat ik ook zo mooi vind.

So I began for 2 years ago collecting English pottery, this teapot I received from a very dear aunt Ineke as a gift.

Nice gathering at the flea markets and sometimes I even get a gift from dear friends when they encounter it.

It is so lovely pottery tableware which fits perfect with the fabric toile de Jouy, love it.

Op de bank tref je dan ook mijn zelfgemaakte toile de jouy kussens aan en met de tijd ook de lampekapjes maar aangepast hihi…

On the couch you also find my homemade toile de jouy cushions and with time passing even the lampshades also adapted, lol ...

 Heb er mooi kant op gemaakt met yoyo rondjes van de toile de jouy stof en een lieflijk lintje.

Ben zo zuinig op deze stof  en heb gelukkig nog over voor andere doeleinden…

 Van het weekend belooft het heerlijk warm te worden met veel zonneschijn dan zal ik op dit bankje gaan zitten met een leuk handwerkje.

Helaas had de schommelbank het vorig jaar begeven maar dit sofabed is ook heerlijk en ik kan er helemaal even in wegdommelen.

This weekend the weather promises to be lovely and warm with lots of sunshine and I will sit down with a “work in progress” handcraft project on this couch.

Unfortunately, the porch swing broke down last year but this sofa is also very good and I can totally doze in here.

“Oh what a beautiful morning…”

Wat is het toch heerlijk als je ’s ochtends wakker wordt gemaakt met het vroege zonlicht door je ramen.

En als ik mijn oogjes langzaam open doe dan kijk ik naar dit quiltje en lees… “Oh what a beautiful morning”.

De dag zo fijn starten met een positieve tekst, daar wordt je toch heel blij en vrolijk van.

It is so wonderful when you wake in the morning with the early sunlight through your windows.

And when my eyes are slowly open I look at this quilt and read ... "Oh what a beautiful morning."

The day starts so fine with a positive text,  you will become very happy and cheerful reading it.

Dit quiltje hangt in de slaapkamer en ja totaal ander kleurgebruik dan het gebruikelijke rood en crème/ wit wat ik doorgaans in ons huis gebruikt.

Lekkere frisse blauwe kleurtjes wat een rust geeft gemengd met andere mooie en ook frisse kleuren.

Quiltpatroon had ik ooit gekocht bij atelier Bep en vond het héél leuk om deze te maken.

This quilt hangs in the bedroom and yes the use of the colours are totally different than the usual red and cream/ white which I usually use in our house.

Fresh different blue colours which gives a touch of peace mixed with other beautiful and bright colours too.

Quilt Pattern I had ever bought at atelier Bep and found it very fun and lovely to make it.

 Ook ik werd betoverd door de sterren blokken wat ik vorig jaar in een aantal blogs zag…

Ja wilde ze ook dolgraag maken, maar wat?

Also, I was enchanted by the stars blocks what I saw in some blogs last year ...

Yes I also wanted so badly to make those, but what? 

Natuurlijk de ochtend sterren werden het voor mij en maakte er kussenhoezen van. Nog een gekoesterde wens van mij om ooit nog een hele grote mooie bijpassende quilt te maken voor op bed.

Of course, the morning stars that was it for me and so I made cushion covers.

Another cherished wish of mine to ever make a big beautiful matching bed quilt.

Kussentje gemaakt gevuld met lavendel, plaatje van een kaart wat ik ooit van een hele lieve vriendin Sietske heb gekregen.

 Jaaa, ik ben er weer.

En zo leven we alweer in halverwege februari 2014 en hoop dat iedereen een goede start heeft gemaakt begin dit jaar.

Yeah, I'm back.

Allereerst spreek ik een grote dank uit voor degene die zo geduldig zijn en waarvan ik ontzettende lieve mailtjes/ reacties etc. heb ontvangen met nieuwjaarswensen, bezorgdheid en wanneer ik weer eens ging schrijven.

In de tussentijd heb ik symbolisch dit hartje voor iedereen handgemaakt die zo geduldig zijn,  THANK YOU!

First of all, I want to say a big thanks to those who are so patiently and which I have received emails/ reactions for New Year's greetings, concerns about me and even questions when I started writing again. In the meantime, I have handmade this symbolic heart for all who are made ​​so patient, THANK YOU!

Sinds de kerstvakantie heb ik thuis een ware opruiming gehouden en wel een hele vroege voorjaarsschoonmaak gehouden, eigenlijk de hele maand Januari hahaha…

Wilde het al zo héél lang en had de slag te pakken dus was even doorgegaan om alle kamertjes en hoekjes een grondige poetsbeurt te geven maar ook heel wat opgeruimd.

Dan moet ik het e.e.a. even laten voor wat het is, zo ook mijn blog en mijn kat Tiki die me alleen maar zag met een emmer, poetsdoek en stofzuiger.

Since the Christmas holidays, I held a big home cleanup and it was a very early spring cleaning, actually the entire month January hahaha ...

Wanted it for so long to give all the rooms and corners a thorough cleaning and not only cleaning but also rid of a lot of things.

Then I have to make things wait for what it is, so is my blog and my cat Tiki who only saw me with a bucket, cloth and vacuum cleaner.

Ik kwam zoveel tegen ook aan handwerkspullen, tja en met een hele grote verbeten lip had ik tegen mezelf gezegd we slaan dit jaar de handwerkbeurs te Zwolle over, pffff….! Ja, ik zie jullie wenkbrauwen al fronsen dat deed ik zelf ook hahahaha….

Eerst maar eens al die leuke dingen afmaken, maar moet zeggen afgelopen dagen kwam de twijfel toch om te gaan en heb me echt moeten tegenhouden hahahaha….. Het is altijd té té té leuk en volgend jaar ben ik er hopelijk weer bij. Dit is even een impressie van vorig jaar.

I got so much stuff also for handcrafting and with a huge dogged lip, I said to myself this year I am not visit the craft fair in the town of Zwolle, pfff ....! Yes, I see you frowning eyebrows though I did it also to myself hahahaha ....

First I have to finish all those handcrafting things, but have to say the last few days I doubt and still I want to go and really it was hard to stop myself hahahaha ..... It's always nice to visit the craft fair and hopefully I may go next year. This is just an impression of last year.

Ondanks het vele opruimen heb ik ook wat aan de ontspanning gedaan en vrij veel dingen gemaakt en afgemaakt. De komende tijd zal ik dit op m’n blog natuurlijk laten zien voor degene die zo lief geduldig waren. Even een kleine collage ervan…

Op dit moment de Olympische winterspelen aan de gang en in ons huis hangen ter support de schaatsijzers. Wat een kanjers op het ijs met alle behaalde plakken, top hoor!

Binnenkort zal deze winterse sfeer tafereeltjes uit huis verdwijnen want ik heb zo’n zin in de Lente, komt door het extreem zachte weer wat we nu hebben.

Voelt zeker niet als het Winter seizoen, weet nog dat we vorig jaar pas begin Juni waren ontdooit van de lange ijzige winter.

Nog even terug te komen op de vele mailtjes en reacties over het patroon van mijn zelfgebreide trui, velen vroegen mij om deze te geven.

Heb er lang over nagedacht want in mijn eerste enthousiasme wilde ik deze gaan delen.

Maar heb me meteen bedacht…, ook ik wil daar respectvol mee om gaan omdat ik deze van die lieve dame spontaan had ontvangen en heb werkelijk geen idee uit welk blad het patroon afkomstig is.

Zoals je wel kan begrijpen kan en mag je natuurlijk niet zomaar vrij een patroon plaatsen zonder een bronvermelding, te maken met copyright. Graag jullie begrip hiervoor.

Wat wel kan is dat ik deze dame hopelijk weer eens ontmoet en haar het kan vragen uit welk blad het patroon afkomstig is, dus daar hoop ik dan op dan zal ik meteen reageren.

A tiny little house on a spool and the winner of give away nr. 1 is…

En daar is de herfst! Na mooie zonnige en warme dagen in het kleurrijke oktober te hebben gehad heeft de herfst vorige week zijn entree gemaakt.

 Zo liggen mijn pompoenen nog buiten te zonnebaden met de zonnebril op en zo raast er een flinke gure storm over ons land. So were my pumpkins outside still sunbathing with sunglasses on and so a hefty bleak storm sweeping over our country. For Yolande (click) I made this picture because she gave me in September a reaction that her pumpkins were sunbathing too, I have to laugh out loud about her reaction so great.

 Heb heerlijk een hartenkrans voor op de voordeur gemaakt met een hart van yoyo’s en stofjes gebruikt met herfstprint. Manden zijn gevuld met pompoenen, hop en besjes met kleurrijk blad sieren de tuin. Ben er helemaal klaar voor en zoals jullie weten hou ik ook veel van dit seizoen.

Cheerfull I have made a lovely heart wreath for the frontdoor with a heart of yoyo and fabrics used with autumn print. Baskets are filled with pumpkins, hops and berries with colourful leaves adorning the garden. I'm ready for Autumn and as you know I love this season so much.

Voor een heel lief kaboutertje heb ik dit kleine huisje gemaakt.

 For a very sweet gnome I made this little house.

Uit het boekje “point de croix et Cie – rouge” heb ik dit huisje uitgekozen en geborduurd.

Met een waslijntje om z’n sokjes te drogen… ruiken weer lekker na het harde werken met mij om de herfst in huis te brengen en zijn huisje te maken (knipoog).

Heb gekozen voor de allergrootste klos van de ribbonstore.nl, dinerbord diende als mal voor de stippelstof en een ontbijtbord voor de stof wat ik als onderkant hebt gebruikt voor het dak/ hoed van de paddenstoel.

Borduurband op maat afgeknipt en deze rondom de klos met daaronder een laagje wattine vast gemaakt met kleine steekjes.

In het midden van de lichte stof een opening gemaakt zodat de klos erdoor heen kan. Stippelstof iets ingerimpeld op de lichte stof vastgezet en opgevuld met wattine.
